my sunny clutch last me 4 years plus and still in good nick but changed it still when I was planning to mod the car.

and people say upshift downshift constantly wear out clutch faster

Normally it will cost how much to replace clutch? I mean item+ labour cost. My friend say his Atos change clutch cost him RM800.

i just change my waja clutch..rm32 for clutch bearing,rm 120 for clutch plate and rm 150 for pressure plate. change altogether kasi senang satu kali jalan.labor rm 130.normal brand exedy.

my dad's iswara still using the same clutch from year 2000..

myvi clocked 97,000.
which is ok for now.

how 2 tell its time 2 change clutch? harder 2 engage gear? high pitch sound?

myvi 1.0 clocked around 95k KM...i changed the clutch bcos mine gone already....maybe bad habit of pressing the clutch a lot,

Mine is auto.
When it change gear from 1 to 2 got the 'clank' sound and feel.

And when changing from gear 1 to 2 it rev till 3 but the feeling after rpm 2 is like neutral. then 3 it change. If wan change earlier need to release the pedal then it will change. then will have the 'clank' sound& feel. Happen in gear 1 to 2. 2 to 3 not noticeable. Others no prob.

Had been asking these ques many times but din get any ans. Hope to get it here.

for high tork engine easier to detect, for small tork engine hardly to detect.. especially kancil, that's why the plate gone 1st b4 u can feel the slip..

Most Clutch wear happen when the clutch engages the shaft, as friction is most there, this also happens when you have the clutch half pressed, balancing the clutch instead having it neutral.

When you use clutch brake the clutch will have alot of friction when engine is revving higher than your wheels.

Traveling long distance may not wear the clutch out faster than city drive, assuming same distance traveled. Unless you do alot of 0-100 which also have high friction.

Clocked 260kkm and nothing happens, still can get 160-170km/h without problem....

Auto gear no need change clutch, even though it has some sort of clutch.

Confirm Auto Gear Box problem, when it upshift or downshift, you feel like for 1 second it's neutral and the rpm burst up then you feel the grip. Happens on certain gear. i don't know the reason but from common sense i would say the mechanism of changing gear had been delayed due to wear & tear, or there's a slip due to gear wearing down?

What car model is yours?

for auto tranny the thing that function as clutch is tork converter.. auto tranny must really take care the ATF, change it frequently n use high grade oil.. n replace the oil filter inside the gbx..

my dad's 97' pajero changed clutch after 14 years in 2011. i was driving it since 2010 but not sure about the mileage though. at that time i only care about isi minyak and angin.

i believe my clutch just kaput. I can't engage the stick and the pedal. but when i start the car in 3rd gear, i can get the car move.

You mean your car can't engage 1st and 2nd gear? Sometimes it is just clutch maladjusted only. Unless it slip la.

i can't engage all the gear.. stuck in a highway, then i turn off the engine, engage 3rd gear without pressing the clutch, start the engine and zoom away to service center with only 40km/h at around 15km ride non stop.
Epic and scary ride.

If u can't engage gear, it's the clutch pump or wire.

After u engaged gear, but car like not responding to the throttle, that's clutch disc.
