lighter is better?? i don't think so, when car go light, unless you have tire that can provide high grip which need less weight to provide friction, otherwise, you will found that your wheel actually not doing it job.

meanwhile, tire is actually the only thing contact with track that made your car running on the track...hahaha...

[attachmentid=1584848]

timed my fmx just now with gp1600+sprint dash courtesy of chris+large arched tires (took them out b4 taking the photo)

before that i only managed 17.56 with the trimmed tires.

from my research, the large dia arched tires definitely have more top speed.

ng, i think light cars shud be an advantage during a long track race due to lesser battery consumption hence better endurance, which also means longer lasting battery usage throughout the race (clocking consistent lapse time).. but ur right bout tire grip.. however, with de weight of the batteries, i think it shud be sufficient to press the tire down to create more grip..

nway, juz my way of seeing things.. cheers..

surely lighter better, but ppl are too concern on weight and forget about the tire which actually more important. a correct tire setting bring huge diff. tamiya tire normally very hard, the car actually keep on jumping when it running, motor's power actually unable transfer to the ground.

if you can solve tire problem. weight can come after it.

that is what i wanna say. laugh.gif

we need reston's "soft" and rubber's "grip"....

unfortunately, reston is not that grip on used track... or else it will be a good choice, light and power..hahaha...

Added on May 20, 2010, 5:46 pmbtw, i think super large diameter at small layout, 1st laps unable to produce high speed, i lost quite some time in 1st lap... it's very slow to speed up...maybe normal large diameter can run faster...

@szngszng,
yout car rip what happend, FRP broken issit? my car also rip, yesterday bobby was there...i got too excited and pinjam his JET DASH. then my car go really fast..and then fly out during corner and hit the wall(almost hit bobbys head) . the fmx chassis very flimsy cannot take the speed... sad.gif

what about hard compound tires, to go faster during corners? it might be a solution. grippy tires slows the car down. we got some info that colored tires have a harder compound than the black tires..

hmm..i think the track now is to tackle the wave section amongst others...
1.shorter cars are slower in waves, but fast in corners.
2.longer cars are faster in waves, slower in corners.

@david
thanks for the empty boxes!
*
if chis not closed the door after 10pm... my car maybe pay parking...so nice you all test car together...

hard compound tire motor power hard to transfer to ground... soft tire which grip can solve this problem by sanding the tire to some "shape" which when it go to corner become gripless...this is the tips...

i left this part for you to think~~hehehe

Added on May 20, 2010, 6:32 pmbtw, i think we need sponge to catch car on LC...my hand suffer... until now still bleeding... deep impact...

well, according to economic supply and demand theory,

when supply over demand, price drop.

when demand over supply, price increase.

meanwhile, there is other issue like transportation, tax and e.t.c...

but somehow, the price in japan and online shop is still cheaper even after currency convertion compare to sg??

any idea?

it's just like we got fried chicken in pasar malam and kfc...

but why there are people still choosing kfc while not cheaper pasar malam 1?

some time pasar malam 1 nicer....

Added on May 23, 2010, 3:42 amare you try to do business here... if there is the purpose, maybe soon we don't have free track and nice environment...hahaha...
