Hi,

I am encountering frequent blue screen of death with my setup as follows:

- Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 @ 3.6Ghz
- Gigabyte EP43-UD3L
- OCZ PC2-8500 Platinum DDR2 1066Mhz 4GB
- Gigabyte GTX295
- Gigabyte ODIN Pro 800W
- Cooler Master Hyper TX2

It happens about once every 2 days during random situations (eg. when I have not boot into windows, idle in windows or playing games). The error stated in BOD would mostly be "Memory Management". However, there are some other errors which occur less. In addition, my cpu voltage in BIOS is 1.425V while cpuz only show much less at 1.392V. Intel burn test results are also not consistent (Gigaflops range from 17 to 20.9). I've run Prime95 at SmallFFTs which is stable for 2.5 hours. Sorry I have yet to test "blend" in prime95. Appreciate if sum1 can advise if there is any issues with my OC settings. Thanks in advance.

voltage is kinda high.

i still remember my old E5300 dont need a bump in voltage for around that kind of setting.

u sure it need 1.4v for it??

i leave it at 1.425V since CPUZ only show 1.392V . . trying to give it more power to prevent it from BSOD . . but to no avail it still does . . hmmmm

I've played around with this processor before. 3.6GHz is peanuts even on el-cheapo motherboard. biggrin.gif

What is your DRAM voltage? unsure.gif

What thermal paste did you use? cool2.gif

Sounds like memory stability issue, try running Memtest86+ or Memtest86 with at least 5 to 10 passes/loops. Also make sure the C1E is disabled in the BIOS setup. hmm.gif

If not mistaken, no need to go to 1.4V at this frequency. In fact my overclocking was done with stock voltages, its not until I've reached around 3.7GHz that I need to pump more voltage. icon_rolleyes.gif

ya thats alike my experience with it too.

ts try to loose the timing of the ram to like cl5 and run memtest to see if its stable.

setting high vcore doesn't prevent u from BSOD.. i've noticed u changed the ram timings.. tat could possibly be yr reason of frequent BSOD..
