u need to tripple conform on dis man...  tongue.gif

even if u have da bridge... how bout da latest nvidia driver???

i have read dat da newer driver wont make ur system recognize da 2nd vga as SLI...  u can only depend to da old driver to make it full SLI mode...  sweat.gif
*
dunno which forum/review did u read...but according to AnandTech, quoted:
"..The discovery that the Ultra chipset can be easily modded to SLI removes a major obstacle to SLI performance on the cheaper Ultra boards - if the manufacturer made provisions for SLI. Once the SLI mod is complete, the system and nVidia drivers see the chipset as a full SLI chipset. This removes the driver issues and the ability of nVidia to turn off support in "non-complying Ultra SLI chipsets".
or click here!
no more prob with the driver. u can even use the new driver...just connect one part and walla...u have 'SLI-modded" board... thumbup.gif
havent try on mine thou...actually, i still waiting for my hsf b4 setup my nf4 system. sweat.gif

havent check mine yet...hope it's moddable...
anyway...just got the time to setup my rig last nite...i got a few question if anyone mind to share their expertise:

1. Anybody use the Thermalright XP-120 with Ultra-D. it's damn hard to put my Twinx1024-C2PRo coz of the damn big ramsink.
2. Coz of #1, I can only put them on DIMM 1 & 3 (after doing some wresting with the HSF), but once power up, got beep and the led showed that my ram are not detected even thou i can see the led on my ram is going up and down i.e. some activites going on. Already flash the bios to the latest one. Pull out the power cable, cleared the CMOS, unplugged the battery. wait some time and reverse the process. Start the system, OK. But if I go into the BIOS and load the optimized setting and restart, got the same problem back. RAM not detected. Once, i tried to proceed to load windows without entering the loading the optimized setting - OK. Got into windows, mem running at dual-channel. But when I restart the pc, same thing happen again. RAM CANNOT BE DETECTED again. aiya.... doh.gif
3. to run at dual-channel, do I need to put the sticks at DIMM2 & 4 i.e. ONLY - cannot put at DIMM1 & 3 like most P4 mobo. Running single channel is OK btw but defeat the purpose of having the matched pair, izznt it.

any help is very much appreciated. meanwhile, i'll be going for a looong sailing over the net to find the solution. thumbup.gif

Yeah...2 & 4 only just like the manual says. Should have installed the rams....THEN install the heatsink. tongue.gif

was hoping the manual and the warning by BIOS is wrong... blush.gif ... need to take out the monsters again la...both of them...the hsf and the c2pro...need to find a way some how...
but...i wonder why when i reset the cmos, restart, proceed to windows w/out going into bios, cpu-z detected my mem is running on dual channel...and this is at DIMM1 & 3...hmmm...maybe dfi need to come-out with another fix for this...if not, then there's no need to have the diff color coded for dimm1&3 and dimm2&4, isn't it?

pewww...has gone fishing on the net for the guide...found none...the only one found...is non-dual channel...which is using dimm1&3...very discouraging...but finally...i tried it my own way and voila...managed to put the chunk of stick in dimm4...with about 1 mm space between the tip and the heatsink...so now running on dual-channel...but still not stable la...dunno what's wrong...sometime when entered the bios...it just hang...but some times only not always...need to re-check again...anyway...need to memtest my mem setting now...ciao

My proc? It's a 3200+
CBBID 0502

not really ocable, max stable at 2.4Ghz
the RAMs are great though,
currently tested at 254 2-2-2-8-1t 3.5v
but needs aircon coz the mosfets gets too hot
*
i've read somewhere...i think it's in the LYN...mentioning about the mosfet can withstand up to 100C...so if around 50C it should be ok...but dont know whether it's true or not...and nice ram u got there thumbup.gif ...mine is tccd...so with this mobo...the extra voltage wont do much... cry.gif

dude, i'm doing one rig just exactly like yours, OCZ VX ram. But seriously cannot install the ram together with the XP-120 in the dimm 2 and 4? Thinking of changing the XP-120 to something else. Is it advisable?
*
been there...done everything and finally gotta it installed...but i don't know how's the height of your ocz compared to my twinx pro...mine is around 42~45mm...if yours are shorter (i mean the ram stick), it is possible to install...but with some wrestling la...haha

all dfi mobo comes with 24 pin connecter...

i have a question...can the normal 24 pin PSU have enough power to supply the board...budget very tight...cant get high power PSU togather with the PC thiis time round...
*
u might need to a little bit define the word 'normal'...is it capalang psu...this mobo requires constant juice...how height izzit depends on what is ur attention...normal use or oc kaw2 type...if not enuff juice...u may get the power led blinking once and awhile...and restart loop may happen...happened to me once...forgot to connect the fdd connector to the board...when i booted the pc...got blinking power led...nice to watch thou but could never load properly...my at least get some pure or truepower la...maybe 450w...that one depends on what's ur system capacity...maybe sifus around here can give some tips...
