Thermalright is an elite design house that manufactures cooling products for computer components for the best quality and performance your money can buy. In 2002, AMD released its first generation Thunderbird CPU and since then we have been there every step of the way to counter high voltage and high heat with innovative design and highly acclaimed cooling solutions not only for AMD but for Intel as well. One of early well known solutions was the SK-6. With many positive and rave reviews under its belt Thermalright bolted to the top as the heat sink manufacturer mostly preferred by Overclockers and enthusiasts around the World. To this day, innovation never left our vocabulary as we keep coming up with leading edge designs staying ahead of the competition

Features of Venomous X
# All new patented multiple support pressure vault bracket system, allow users adding pressure to the bracket system (40~70 lbs.), and have a more efficient and secure mounting.(1366 / 1156 / 775).
# Mirrored copper base increasingly upgrade the quality and the performance of the heatsink.
# Special bent winglet design, allows hot air to pass the heatsink more rapidly.
# Heatsink are all nickel plated to ensure the best quality and performance and could last for years.
# Soldered heatpipes, copper base and fins, to ensure the best thermal conducting efficiency.
# Six sintered heatpipe design, all heatpipes are nickel plated. To slow the oxidation deterioration to the heatpipe, to ensure longer usage and performance of the heatsink for the cpu.
# Including 2 sets of 120 x 25mm fan clips and Chill factor II thermal paste.
# Convex copper base design, to ensure the Highest thermal conducting thermal efficiency between the cpu and the heatsink.

Test Rig:
Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.4GHz
Asus Rampage II Extreme
3x2GB Kingston Value RAM @ 7-8-7 1600MHz
Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1000W
Asus Xonar D2X

Cooler Master Cosmos S
Tuniq TX-3

Softwares:
Core Temp
CPU-Z
Prime 95

Test Method:
Tuniq TX-3
Ceiling fan on
Case closed
3 exhaust on top, 1 exhaust at rear, 1 intake at front ( basically a negative airflow setup )
Prime 95 for 2 hours, then turn off for 30 minutes for cool down and run for another 2 hours Prime 95, minimum and maximum reading will be divided into 2.

Coolers:
Corsair H50 Custom Intake Fitting ( Push & Pull with Cooler Master 90CFM )
Thermalright Venomous-X ( Push & Pull with Cooler Master 90CFM )
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme ( Push & Pull with Cooler Master 90CFM )
Prolimatech MegaShadow Deluxe ( Push & Pull with Cooler Master 90CFM )

All cooler will be applied with Tuniq TX-3.

Result is here rclxms.gif
Attached Image
The H50 using custom fitting and dual fan setup, so the result might be far too good than other reviews laugh.gif

Pros:
Superb cooling
Very good built quality
Improved packaging
New mounting system giving xtra pressure
Push Pull is an ultimate setup for it brows.gif

Cons:
No fans bundle
Backplate is not same as TRUE
Quite pricey

Overall I give personal rating of 9.8/10 for this cooler, definitely is a must for case show off and overclocking thumbup.gif

QUOTE(kInOzAwA @ Mar 9 2010, 01:05 AM)
woww ace mei mei .. is it you're grabbing another good batch of i7 this time? hahahha most normal batch of i7 920 cannot do that with air cooling solution man.. the temperature is  damn high using air cooler solution biggrin.gif
*
Yup, this is good batch but still, inside a negative air flow casing, it goes up to 90c sweat.gif

QUOTE(rsangel @ Mar 9 2010, 02:26 AM)
Stunning, i'm looking forward to see the result mei mei =_="

Now still headache to go MSD or VX keke
*
VX is much better than TRUE and MSD.

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Mar 9 2010, 08:27 AM)
is there a close-up view of the base of the heatsink without that sticker on? is it really smooth and shiny? or maybe can be improved by lapping a bit? hmm.gif
*
It's 100% mirror finishing and the base contact is real good biggrin.gif

H50 got potential, but you need a very good air flow casing and with intake fitting or else it sucks, I put it into the back of the exhaust and guess what, even TRUE Black can beat its performance rclxub.gif

So make sure you can have custom fitting for the H50 or dont ever think about it, but honestly, get a Venomous-X and a pair of nice fan, it's more than enough, air cooler has nothing to worry about. biggrin.gif
