why my laptop doesnt detect my lagend?? i already set ad disk drive

Is Android as user-friendly as other mobile OS such as iOS or Maemo? Planning to get this Legend, coming from ex-iPhone user. Don't really give much thought on iPhone 4 by the way.

How many of you are using matte SP for your Legend? How's the screen quality like? I've got clear SP but am starting to have second thoughts due to the sheer amount of fingerprints I have to deal with everyday.

In case anyone wants to know, changing screen protectors is cheap thanks to this guy: antho1. Look him up in garage sales. Less than 5 bucks per sp.

Quality is pretty good as well from what I can see. The screen protector I bought from lowyat for RM30 is the same as the one I bought from him for RM4.

where can i buy capdase soft cover for my legend? any shop in msia selling?

any recommendations?

Phone reception on the HTC Legend is not good. Also HTC Legend runs Android 2.1 but does not support Live Wallpaper like HTC Desire or Google Nexus One. For those who wish to upgrade their OS in time to come to support new features in Android 2.2 (Froyo), then forget about HTC Legend. Its not worth buying in my opinion.

Oh ya...a few more things wrong with this phone.
THe Aluminium body is prone to scratches and getting chipped off if you put them together with your keys, instance. Without a protective casing, this phone will be full of scratches if one is not careful. Also the phone slips off your hands very easily due to the casing. Aside from not having Live Wallpaper ( you will notice you cannot install them into your phone),  WIFI is weak...possibly also due to the Aluminium casing I believe. Plus, HTC Sync for the HTC Legend is also flaky. Not sure why, But this could be a problem with the HTC sync software running on the PC, most likely.
Also no video call camera and battery only lasts 1 day of usage. And I heard that HTC Legend will most likely have to wait a long time before it gets the Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrade which is full of goodies and performance improvements.

but I respect you for telling what is unsatisfactory for you about this phone, but stop telling your opinion like a goddamn fact dammit
particularly on that Froyo thing, it may or may not be true but what I know is the truth is that there is no way you can know what happens in the future anyway particularly when the only HTC official statement states that all their phones release in 2010 will get the update..
I cant take seriously your other claims after that statement
who gives a f* about the live wallpaper, its not something that make or break a smartphone
you'll change it to a static one sooner or later when you realize battery life is more important

seriously though, I dont think it matters coz people looking to buy legend over desire/N1is looking for something else,
you might be right, the price difference arent all that much, maybe around rm200 to 300 or even lower
so why buy legend when you can have desire
coz desire is fugly as hell thats why, seriously it looks like HTC just says "hey lets put in badass processor and slapon a giant screen on top of it" and then they forget to give it to the design team, seriously it looks lifeless to me, even the color is just downright ugly, i never like the look of the nexus one and the desire looks worse..
okay its not that bad, but there is nothing sexy about it, which is why you go and buy a legend
it gives you a decent performance that gets you away from the apple-sheep herd, and doesnt make you look nerdy at the same time

I was shocked when I saw that post by HTC Singapore in FB that Android 2.2 not coming to Legend. Not only was it premature but would also deter potential customers.

I've checked the comments on that page and apparently that post is no longer there.

It wouldn't be right for them not to upgrade the Legend to 2.2 IMO. Two phones in the US with similar specs (one of it is even lower) to the Legend are being updated with 2.2.
-MyTouch 3G Slide (higher RAM at 512MB, everything else the same as Legend)
-MyTouch 3G (lower specs overall)
Both phones are manufactured by HTC and customized for T-Mobile. Heck there's even been rumours of HTC Aria getting 2.2 and that thing is IDENTICAL to the Legend in terms of specs.

HAHA.... wow, I really got a kick out of seeing you guys getting all your panties twisted up in knots becos of my comments on the HTC legend. Luckily, there's such a thing called freedom to express one's own opinion. And thanks so much for expressing each of your very entertaining comments too

For the record  though -

1) The bold on the "no video call camera" must have been a glitch when I was typing...didnt mean to bold it actually   I was fully aware of the lack of video call camera when I bought it.

2) Like I said -  the reception and wifi signals for me is weaker than other PDA phones I've used - and I read from the net is possibly due to the aluminium casing.

3) And I heard that HTC Legend will most likely have to wait a long time before it gets the Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrade which is full of goodies and performance improvements....this time I'm deliberately bolding it so that you guys can read clearly that I never said Froyo wasn't coming to Legend...just that it (may) be a long wait before we see it happen.

4) I did mention that HTC Sync problem was probably due to the HTC Sync software running on the PC.

5) And I did mention that a protective casing is needed to prevent scratches.

And for those who offered to buy it for RM50 or 100, thanks but no thanks....I'll live with the agony of using this wonderfully hip looking android phone

For those of you who love your Legend....heck, if it satisfies your requirements, then good for you!

Lastly, I just want to say - I respect all your opinions, so please respect mine.

LOL....well, if u felt dumb spending your time this way(and taking the time to respond to each point I made), then why bother in the first place? And for all the time spent responding to my post, you can't even come up with your own opinions about the phone....felt dumb , did you say?

any of you guys got this problem? everytime I use the original handsfree and when I get out from the car I unplug it, most of the time the music player will turn on and start playing music thru my phone... darn irritating

Was walking in Gardens during lunch and bought a Capdase leather pouch for my Legend. Will post up some pics later tonight when I get home =D
