But what feature are you looking for in a custom ROM. Just curious  drool.gif
*
Nothing specific. Just haven't seen anything that catches my eye yet. Apps2SD probably is what I would want in the near future but for now, I don't need it since there aren't that many apps that I need on my phone. Apps that usually take a lot of space are games but I don't play portable games on my phone (have an NDS for that). So yea...nothing a custom ROM can give me at the moment that will really 'enhance' the usability of my phone.

I'm sure I'll try it one day though. Already read up a bit on rooting so I'm a little prepared for it =)

I think if Google wants Android to excel in this industry they will need a way to allow apps2sd available. This is the first step to allow developers to create apps that are more appealing to the mass market (mostly candy eye stuff).
*
I think they planned to have it from the start cuz if you look at most android phones (even the higher end ones), they come with relatively small internal memory but at the same time, they offer apps on the market.

I believe what they are trying to do with the 'official' apps2sd is a system that can prevent piracy. I don't think it matters what they do though, since the android community have some really good hackers.

EDIT: I'll put a link up on the 1st page for the official ROM and the Rodriguez style ROM.

Nope, don't have that. Mine's pretty tight though. Was really surprised when I got the phone. Took some muscle to push the headphones in. Now it's still tight but not as tight as before.

Thanks. The ringing problem doesn't really bother me anymore since it isn't an isolated issue. Was worried before cuz I wanted to determine if I needed to RMA my phone or not.

Oh yeah, thanks for the link as well. Will include it in the first post =)

It does. Nice to see, nice to hold.
Then I figure I have to pamper my Legend a bit too.

Am considering getting a capdase too. Is the power button hard to press after attaching the capdase case?

Also, is the included screen protector a normal one or an anti-finger print one? And is it the correct shape (for Legend)?

Thanks.

For those looking for a good GPS alternative to Maps and are tired of waiting for Papago, try iGO My Way. Awesome software that has 3D models and all that. Much better than Sygic in my opinion. Only downside is the amount of memory it takes to install...close to 30MB.

I'm not gonna give you guys any info on how to get the software up and running, so if you wanna try, please use Google. =)

I can however, provide you the maps and POIs. Here's the link: http://www.itgadgets.com.sg/maps.html

Desire, Nexus and Milestone owners, if you're interested, you'll have to install the Motonav version instead of the MyWay. Reason is that the MyWay only supports HVGA screens like the Legend, Hero and Magic.

Yes, the red Legend is a limited edition for a telco in France. I was surprised when the seller asked me which color I wanted when I bought my phone.
Looks pretty good IMO but not really a color a guy would want on his phone haha.

Why do people call the regular Legend color 'brown'? I seriously don't get it. The black parts on the phone don't even look remotely brown. It's BLACK. The Desire's brown.

And vexus, this is not a place for you to just post nonsense and stupid comments. If you don't have anything good to say, please don't say anything at all.

Updated too. I noticed an increase in free RAM after the update. Signal strength of WiFi also appears to be more accurate (or perhaps stronger..?) than before.

You can get free apps using the preinstalled Market on the Legend. For paid ones, you'll have to root your phone and install marketenabler. There are other ways to get the apps but you'll have to use google for that.

The price without contract at the moment is RM1999 for an ori set, and around 1.6k for AP. Someone did manage to get an ori set for RM1799 though.

anybody faces a problem with the screen when you install screen protector on legend? because i read on desire forum, some have complaints about it, they say the screen become pixelated after installing screen protector (anti-glare).. what bout legend? which screen protector should we install?
*
It's not exactly pixelated. It's more like every pixel becomes colorful. Doesn't affect the screen visibility, just its awesomeness.

Clear ones will be better for the screen but you'll hv to deal with the finger prints. I went from matte to clear and now back to matte again. After getting used to matte, having to deal with finger prints on clear ones are just annoying.

anyone here know how to create an album cover for songs copied to sd card so it will be displayed when music player is playing...

i tried by getting the image of the album and save it to my PC. I have it renamed to the following format: ~hTC_Album Name.vin or ~hTC_Album Name.jpg. put it in the same folder as the songs.

But still cant...anyone can help here?
*
Try looking for this app called 'Album Art Grabber'. Awesome app that can find your album art online or even use a picture from any folder in your SD card.

does anyone has the problem of after using gps and map program, the data connection is still on? even though u try to kill the data connection using the HTC Mobile Network or android apn widget (within power control), the data connection will be off for a while and then auto turn on again. the only way to kill off is to turn on and off airplane mode.

this happens to me everytime i use gps/map program.
*
It's a bug. A workaround for this would be to go into airplane mode and then back to normal mode again.

Back to using matte sp since 2 weeks ago after a few days of clear sp. No difference.

In case anyone wants to know, changing screen protectors is cheap thanks to this guy: antho1. Look him up in garage sales. Less than 5 bucks per sp.

Quality is pretty good as well from what I can see. The screen protector I bought from lowyat for RM30 is the same as the one I bought from him for RM4.

PDA Expert sells the matte SP for RM35. RM30 if you got good negotiation skills. Not worth it at all IMO. RM35 for a piece of plastic? -.-

Guys, anyone got issues with HTC Sync?
It worked for me when I first got my phone and maybe once or twice after that but now it seems to have crapped out.
Everytime I connect my phone, it says it can't find HTC Sync (on phone screen) and on the program (PC), it always says 'disconnected'.
Tried everything from a hard reset on the phone to reinstalling ADB drivers on my PC.
The best I could get was HTC Sync running once and crapping out again when I try to sync again.

I'm using Windows 7 64bit btw.

Syncing contacts not a big issue cuz I can use the memory card but what I'm worried about is Rom Updates which will require sync to be working.

I restarted my phone freakin lot of times. Still can't detect. Guess I'll just have to use another PC when a new ROM comes.

Tested on another PC in my house running Vista 32. No problems at all.

I contacted HTC, and their advice was to reformat my PC -.-
Lousy tech support... can't believe they actually want me to reformat my WHOLE PC just for their crappy software.

Googled around and apparently I'm not the only one with the issue. Quite a number of EVO owners (since it's new and popular) have the same problem.

I don't use cases. I use a golla pouch. Bought a capdase soft jacket case for the legend, used it for a week before goin back with the pouch.

Yes, it makes the phone nicer to hold but I don't like not being able to get the aluminium feel.
