On de surface .. yes, more power cums greater quality albeit higher pricing too.. but avr pricin cums wif other things like vdo upscalin n brndin preferences to considr too..
I d oso suggest a lo to mid range one tat has pre outs so u can add pwr amps later..
Uhm for a 1k budget, itd be mighty difficult to find a new format avr in used form let alone new.. for 1k, try lookin for d mid range previous gen sets like de yammy 13/1400 which are pretty gud n if hv not been abused shld last a gud bit still..
