i am currently using a 5 year old Pioneer home theather (HTiB) set...to watch all kinds of DVDs...
recently..i bought a new original TVB drama in DVDs...but don't know y can't play it.... message
" Can't play disc".... and they i tried other tvb original DVDs but it is OK...

and then i tried to play the DVD using my PC...it was ok !!!

really don't know why so strange ???

May be u bought HD DVD... Not the normal DVD

Check out the labels on the cover...what does it say?

i doubt if it's in hd dvd. that format is so 2 year's ago.. but there's a possibility that he owned a hd dvd player since sometime ago it was included in some pc models..

in my opinion, it's just the pioneer being too sensitive.

In my expereince of ownin like 6 dvdps.. if a normally compliant player suddenly gets sensitive to even a previously playable disc.. then its a sign of it nearin its end of useful life..

I'm agree.PIONEER dvd player now quite sensitive.Sometimes I facing this problem when playing unstable DVD and this player giving weird sound like to kebooooom...

Pioneer never been sensitive, i've never heard or seen, cause i had old Pioneer HTIB. Now no more of course..

Probably region incompatibility ?

First time hearing unable to load Original DVDs.
Mine give alot of problem playing those "ahem" dvds, especially those 15bucks copy.

I don't think that it's HD Dvd as TS can play it on his computer.

Maybe it't time for you to get new BD player.SO you can play "ahem" dvds with HD audio/video format.Very crystal clear image maa

the DVD can't play is an ORIGINAL TVB drama series (with 6 DVD...this movie is a 2001 TVB drama) ...but suprisingly...
my pioneer HiTB can play my newer original TVB drama DVDs.... and all ahem movies...

some friend say that is a sign of end of life of my old Pioneer HITB...some said my hitb needs some cleaning...
so today i bought a RM33 DVD drive cleaner from Harvey NOrman....but after cleaning ...still can't read the disc...

another friend told me ...some older DVD players are sensitive...and can't play older version of TVB original DVD...

Return the ori disc to the shop you purchased and get other titles. Simple bro..

Yeah, do that after u've watched it all on ur pc.. haha.. keep doing this n u'll get to watch everything the shop has to offer with a single purchase.. lol.. jk..

Can save your a lot of money maa

Burn one of them to a blank disc on your computer, then play the newly burned disc on the Pioneer player . Worth a try.
