Anyone try this with Bad Company 2 PC version War Tapes setting with 5.1 setup up? (6 speaker count in setting.ini).

My old trusty logitech precision gaming headset left side died last week. Thinking of fully utilize my mobo 5.1 realtek with Kave, and the only game i currently playing is Bad Company 2, so anyone tested on that game?

I would recommend people to use lossless audio( eg. wav, flac, ape,lp,or high quality cds )   to test their kave. mp3 got it's flaw.
AD700 user here .  i got no problem pin pointing enemy location in cod with my "2 channel" headphone . Where can I audition this headphone really want to know how it sound like .

Also .cue and .dts file. Even the file size is large and extreme large(.dts). But for the sound quality, it's totally worth it.
.dts file is mostly use in blu-ray/DvD that tuned with 5.1 surround (6 channels). Rare, but not impossible to find.
.cue is the closes to original record studio sample that can only be found on original CDs/DvDs. Much Llike CD-DA.

All above are told by my housemate working in recording studio as part time. Yes, one that tuned my Kave for me sweat.gif

Can anyone give me a configuration settings?
I got some doubt and problems fiddling with the 4 slider on the control, and also the windows speaker placement.

I put 5.1 for the speaker place configuration in the Sound in control panel.
The 1 with 3 speaker infront, 1 sub woffer, and 2 speaker at the back. Although there also the 5.1 speaker that is 2 speaker side by side.

I am also having a dilemma on the 4 slider settings. I put Center 100, Front 65, then Rear 100, and Bass 35 like that, and it still sound quite weird in War Tapes setting.

Anyone kindly share their comfortable configuration, be it on game or music or movie, just want to know the 5.1 speaker place is side rear or rear. then the 4 slider is what % of each.

Help~~~~

hmm.gif I'd suggest having the Center and Rear equal, while the Front slightly higher.

hmm.gif From the ratios Defallen shown me, it is something like Center:Front:Rear:Sub as 50:65:65:80. And the whole of BFBC2 sounded weird to me doh.gif And the Rear for Roccat Kave is Rear not Side Rear.

weird as in i hearing more "echoes" and hollow sound. then the bullet shots are like lower than my reload sound, so is damn weird. Then i change to Home Theater setting then is much better. The WAR TAPES setting really... not that comfortable IMHO.

@ TDUEnthusiast -- Thanks alot, will try your suggestion also.
@ SilverFire -- Thanks alot, that helps alot.

Are you using onboard soundcard? Or a card from Creative that has no colour coding? hmm.gif.

I've been using Kave for over a week now, so far I'm really2 pleased with the sound quality, the bass is definitely more punchy than my Barracuda HP-1. Shotgun blast is AWSESOME!! But I'm still tinkering with the volume to get the perfect audio accuracy.

Recorded a small portion of Lady Gaga's The Fame with Kave's mic directly from speakers:

Hey guys...bought my Kave today.. I must say everything is amazing, from the packaging, the unit itself, the presentation..but..

Just realize that my onboard sound card is...tiny. Only have three holes, one for mic and two for speakers.

So thinking of upgrading it...any recommendation? Oh...below RM350 please...

Thanks...looking at Creative line up now..
