well, in my case, i seriously want my ps3 to do almost everything it can. so, i come up with this solution to buy a NAS coz it would provide many advantage for me such as simultaneous file access among my siblings and as a secured file database. so, eventhough the file might come more than 4gb in a single file, via network it is possible to stream them. now i am more than happy with my choice. thanks to Western Digital MyBook World Edition white light which come with built in media server named twonky media. lately, there's a fix for twonky so that people can now fast forward/backwards using ps3. so everything just gettin better n better for me. anyway, i liked this group of seeders called "PS3 Team" coz the file will come exactly at 4GB for easy transfer and storage for the ps3.

yep this is possible .. easiest is to use PS3 Media Server, google it up.

1080p .mkv will give some problem. but no big deal just play with the transcode quality and it's ok.
but quality would degrade slightly but still better than 720p imho.

mp4 you'll need a convertor (due to *AAC audio) other than that it's playable so far ..

Remember you'll need wired connection for 720p above

*AAC just wont play .. these needs some gurus to explain, all i know .. is .. it plays or it does not.
