I just upgrade from 1Mb to 4Mb about 1 month ago. I asked the same question as you do now. So I think I should share my experience with whoever is interested to upgrade.

Overall, there is improvement.

Surfing: Not really noticeable much.
Youtube or other similar service: Improved (buffering time reduce quite a bit)
Download Rapidshare/Megaload (free service): Improved (from 50kb/s to around 90kb/s)
Torrent: I not really into it
Online gaming: Local - I do feel better. Oversea - I don't play
Stability: Improved (but stability can depend on many other things)
My happy index with internet connection: Improved  biggrin.gif

tongue.gif Sorry don't have much to share, I am now busy with setting up my new rig, so don't have much time to online.

Wow that sucks, I wouldn't call it an improvement since your paying more for something that is of similar service performance overall. If you talking about local gaming performance even 512Kbps ain't gonna be much different from 4Mbps, lol.

The point for 4Mbps is because you can download (and upload, heh) more than 1Mbps. If you talking about "local server" latency then I think 1Mbps user ain't got much to complain about as well. Unless you talking about downloading patch and updates then, yeah, 4Mbps is definitely better than 1Mbps.

Other reason where people might be interested in subscribing 4Mbps is sharing their line so when person A can stream video/music, person B can do the same thing as well, less buffering time for both people to boot.
