I want to upgrade to 4Mb BB package from my existing 1Mb package. How is the process of getting TM to check whether my area have to coverage of 4Mb? Just go TM to register, then they will come to house to check? How long it will take for them to check?

Also, if say, my area got coverage and I am upgrading to 4Mb BB, while waiting TM to do their work, what with happen to my current connection? Will I be disconnected for a period of time before they activate the new package?

cry.gif I check my phone bill and it shows my place is 4km away... does this mean I can say sayonara to 4Mb package??? So disappoint...

I read from another forum, inside your bill should have something like:

Talian telephone ---> 4km RMXXX

I think is on the second page of the bill, you have a look.


Bro ahcheap, you mean 4km away not necessary mean cannot get 4Mb? Or the info show in the bill is not usefeul. I think I better just make a trip to TM to check it up lah....

rclxms.gif I applied 4Mb last saturday, technician already come today. Tested the line no problem, given the green light and 4Mb package here I come. Technicial told me need wait 24hr for the line to be activated. Hopefully ok tomorrow. icon_idea.gif

I am speechless, just got my BB 4Mb packaga for a few day and got price reduction from 160 to 140. And I need to TM point to ask for the reduction? So troublesome....

I just upgrade from 1Mb to 4Mb about 1 month ago. I asked the same question as you do now. So I think I should share my experience with whoever is interested to upgrade.

Overall, there is improvement.

Surfing: Not really noticeable much.
Youtube or other similar service: Improved (buffering time reduce quite a bit)
Download Rapidshare/Megaload (free service): Improved (from 50kb/s to around 90kb/s)
Torrent: I not really into it
Online gaming: Local - I do feel better. Oversea - I don't play
Stability: Improved (but stability can depend on many other things)
My happy index with internet connection: Improved biggrin.gif

tongue.gif Sorry don't have much to share, I am now busy with setting up my new rig, so don't have much time to online.

biggrin.gif FYI, the price increase for me to upgrade is not much, from previous RM118 (including phone rental) to now RM140 (all in and I get free phone call to TM fixed line). tongue.gif Now my gf is on the phone with her mum everynight solid... With additional RM22, my gf is happy, I get a new dect phone, and better speed, even if the improvement is small for me, is totally worth it for me. The RM22 I can easily save from my mobile phone bill.

Normally, speedtest will only give me about 3.5Mb download speed, and I know TM capped me at 4Mb. You see, the big reason for me to upgrade from 1Mb to 4Mb is that, during night time, my previous line was pretty bad even for local gaming server. No joke. Now i am enjoying my online gaming very well even night time, so this make me happy. I am just a simple internet user, not much downloading or pps, but i definite feel the 4Mb is improving my overall online experience.

Overall, I am very happy about my upgrade to 4Mb package, as I am now getting a better connection at night with no real cost increase. Hope this help... thumbup.gif

i called up customer care.  3 times, 1st told me to do some trouble shooting, 2nd told me to call up my contractor, and the previous 1 say need send to higher technician, have to wait 1 more day.
i waited half a month for streamyx, and still have to wait? so ZZzzzz.
not sastify with the tm services.

I am truly sorry for the bad experience you have and count myself lucky. I live in PJ, and maybe I am somehow lucky, my experience with TM has been reasonable, nothing majorly bad. For example, just a few ago, my phone line went totally dead. So as usual, call TM, log report, blah blah blah. I made the call around 9am in the morning, by around 2pm something, a technician already called me, saying he is repairing it now, and ask me to try again my phone. Within 15min, all settle. Technicial even come up to my place, apologized, and told me there seems to be some cable problem.

Anyhow, hope TM can settle all the blunders, and get thier act together. And unfortunate for us, TM is somehow still the "best" ISP around compare to what we have in the market. I tried P1 and Maxis, and all I can say is, bad bad bad. I know there are other ISP around, but if they do not provide the service in your area, even they are GOD like, no point also.
