Guys, wanna ask how do I actually split 1 single Astro cable to 2 decoders, without pulling a new cable from the dish. Reason is my new place uses centralized dish and the cables are already concealed in the wall by the developer.

I found this device in an electrical shop and the guy said it will split the cable with no signal loss. Does anyone have any idea about this? Picture of the device as attached.

Thanks in advance...thumbup.gif

Taikor MPYW, I have 2 Astro subscriptions so no worries there. What is worrying is the signal loss because of the cable split. My current house, they just tap the new cable from the existing one, signal loss like fark... sad.gif

I'm not sure how this device will help as it is also just splitting the cable to 2...so need U sifu's advise...

There are some splitters which comes with "boosters" to compensate.

For Astro SD decoder, it should be no problem. But aspect a signal loss by 3dB. I had did that at my parent house.
But it won't work for Astro Byond (HD)

Yeah, looks same but i think different brand, can't remember. The one i help my friends to install at his house has freq up to 1000Mhz only, but it still work shocking.gif
Just compare signal loss during rain after you install

Thanks bro Anfieldude. Right now I don't see any other alternative as all the cabling is in-wall and using shared centralized dish...sad.gif

Sorry for omitting that info. Right now is still the old dish, but changing to b.yond dish soon. (Cabling no change though).

Does it make a difference though?

How do you want to change the dish as your house is using centralized dish? hmm.gif
changing the dish also mean change to byond as well. is it right?

The mgmt is working with Astro to change the dish. BTW, my place is a new project, just completed so the changing of dish will be fast as there is no one using it yet.

Good news then, your place will be one of the first. For those using individual dish, Astro will provide new dish with LNB that has 2 output, they don't allow using splitter, because when 1 decoder tune to HD channel, another decoder won't get any signal. But not sure about centralized dish, maybe Astro has another solution for this. You need to tell Astro about your situation when they call you for T&C after you register to byond.
