Megadeth is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1983. Founded by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson following Mustaine's departure from Metallica, the band has since released twelve studio albums, six live albums, two EPs, twenty six singles, thirty-two music videos, and three compilations.

As a pioneer of the American thrash metal movement, Megadeth rose to international fame in the 1980s and was ranked as one of the "Big Four of Thrash," along with Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, who were responsible for creating, developing and popularizing the thrash metal sub-genre. Megadeth has experienced numerous line-up changes, due partly to the band's notorious substance abuse problems. From 1983 to 2002, Mustaine and Ellefson were the only continuous members of the band. After finding sobriety and securing a stable line-up, Megadeth went on to release a string of platinum and gold albums, including the platinum-selling landmark Rust in Peace in 1990 and the Grammy nominated, multi-platinum Countdown to Extinction in 1992. Megadeth disbanded in 2002 after Mustaine suffered a severe nerve injury to his left arm. However, following extensive physical therapy, Mustaine reformed the band in 2004 and released The System Has Failed, followed by United Abominations in 2007; the albums debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #18 and #8, respectively. Megadeth, along with their new lead guitarist Chris Broderick, released their twelfth studio album, titled Endgame, on September 15, 2009, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200.

In the band's 25 active years, Megadeth has had 20 official members, with Dave Mustaine remaining as the driving force and main songwriter.

Megadeth is known for its distinctive instrumental style, often featuring dense, intricate passages and trade off guitar solos. Mustaine is also known for his "snarling" vocal style, as well as his recurring lyrical themes including politics, war, addiction, personal relationships, and the occult.

Megadeth has sold close to 25 million albums worldwide,[1] with five consecutive albums being certified platinum in the USA. The band has also been nominated for seven consecutive nominations for Best Metal Performance.

# This album is a series of albums in the drug addiction of Musaine and this is evident in these recordings. 'Snarl' of Mustaine showed he was so high during the recording process. Hear songs "Hook In Mouth".
# Songs "Set The World Afire" is the first song made by  Mustaine immediately after leaving Metallica. It is not included in the previous album as not suitable. This song also takes inspiration directly from the song The Trooper (Iron Maiden).
# Song "In My Darkest Hour" is the first song that Mustaine solved with a single sitting, from beginning to end! It is a tribute to Mustaine's friend ever, Cliff Burton (Metallica) is killed in an accident.
# To cover song lyrics Sex Pistols, Anarchy In The UK does not like the original. This is caused by Mustaine he heard one.
# Song "Liar" refers to the previous guitarist, Chris Poland (sessionist to return to the album The System Has Failed. the Lyrics is really condemn him ... hahaha!
# Jeff Young, guitarist,  is a hard rock guitarist who was forced back by Mustaine to match the image of heavy thrash Metal Megadeth. why don't combine this thread with Metal thread? unless if it's renamed as heavy/thrash metal thread alone but need to split all the metal genres too. It might confusing anyone including me... haha

you know, thats what Metal vocalist should sound. High pitch. Not like today screamo poser who shriek, growl, snooze, snort etc.. Furthermore his riffing and skill could kill any modern guitarist right now.

Just listen the album. Compared to the previous I think this album is way better than Endgame. If I could vote it maybe it would be 8.5.

The songs already known, that were leaked, are really amazing, mainly Sudden Death and Never Dead. Both songs are off the charts. Maybe the weakest of them all is Whose Life...Public Enemy No 1 is pretty good with a good solo and great performance by Dave Mustaine.
The rest of the album...Fast Lane is a pretty intense song, not very fast, but really strong and intense. New World Order is one of my least favourites of the album, it remindes me The System Has Failed or United Abominations..it´s ok but not Megadeth. Black Swan is an old song of Megadeth from the United Abominations cd, it was remastered and changed "here and there". Wrecker is really good song, very Megadeth reminds me from the Youthanasia album, fast song and lyrics are a real criticism for someone. We The People is a typical song from the United Abominations cd, it's a song about the present situation in America and around the world, it can function as slogan of incentive to the people (We the people is political slogan), technically the drums are the best of this song with Shawn Drover dominationg all the way, although the incentive is there, it is also a dark song. Millennium Blind as a great first 2:40 with a more dramatic pace, after that it continues with a fast pace, with drums playing a great part of the song...the solo is really ok and it fits in the drama of the song. 13 is the most emotionally driven song, mainly Dave Mustaine, it may function as a reminder that Megadeth are here to stay and will go on with greart power, i find really great material in 13 song, way better than The hardest part... of the last album, that was the most dramatic of Endgame. Deadly Nightshade is a heavy song with heavy riff and good solo... it's one of the most agressive songs of "13" in all aspects vocally, in guitar, bass and drums. Guns Drugs & Money don't have a lot to say it's seems to be a filler song. It seems that Dave and the others saw they have time to fill and made this song...it's a good song but not in the pack of the best songs of the album...it's a more generic song that doesn't mean anything in particular, is fast, heavy ... but lacks in feeling.

I think it has better songs and less generic songs than Endgame. This album is much more heavier with greater songs. Never Dead, Sudden Death, Public Enemy No 1 and 13 are really amazing maybe a pack of songs that is one of the best made by Megadeth in this decade. This 4 songs played live must be amazing and have to be present in future setlists (they seem to sound amazing live)

Broderick is too good for Megadeth anyway, his talent was wasted there. Megadeth are a great band, but Broderick is that kind of guitarist who needs to have fellow bandmates accommodating him, because he's that good. Not there other way around.

About Shawn, he did his job well. Very strict to the original arrangement, which I suspect had to do with Dave Mustaine. Glad he finally decided to pursue his own interest because just like Chris, he is a great musician and composer.
