you know, thats what Metal vocalist should sound. High pitch. Not like today screamo poser who shriek, growl, snooze, snort etc.. Furthermore his riffing and skill could kill any modern guitarist right now.

QUOTE(scorps @ Mar 14 2010, 03:55 AM) well, i love the mustaine's vocal, He probably wasted or drugged because that's the way he live his live in the late 80's and early 90's hence the vocal sound very off.but sometimes he suck when performing live u can try search for any live show during 1990 tour on youtube |

I see... they reworked several of their demos and unofficial song back in mid 90's. Interesting.

To be honest, at the moment i don't like it. But Countdown to Extinction is never my favourite Deth album which has similar direction as TH1RT3EN. I think Public Enemy is catchier and Never Dead is much better than these 2 songs. Maybe those who love CTE will like this song.
Added on October 18, 2011, 10:57 pmTears in a Vial, one of the greatest lyric ever written by metal musician. Sure the song is slow and maybe sound lame to certain people but you can't deny the deep and metaphor in the lyric is genius. Lyric: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The meaning of the song: QUOTE This is about Dave walking away from the music industry. Dave Mustaine said so himself. “This was one of the first ones I wrote after I broke up Megadeth. For a man to walk away from a multi-million dollar franchise just because he is not happy- he’s got to be very unhappy. One of the lines is ‘Forced to look deep in the mirror and face who I really am/now it’s just me because I can’t afford you.’ that tells you some truths.” http://www.megadeth.com/scorpion_archive.php?scorpion_id=116 And i couldn't believe this man used to did all the rocker 101 stuff with that mullet hairstyle back during his youth: This post has been edited by Angel of Deth: Oct 18 2011, 10:57 PM |

Hope Mustaine will be more open for the new album. Shawn has been there for 8 years while Broderick been there for 4 years but they never had any credible input for the past albums. Their newer stuff suffers from this as it doesn't have much diversity. You could tell it had Mustaine footprint all over it. Sometime it left you wanting more as Megadeth are super talented heavy metal band, one of very few last bastion since the 80's.

QUOTE(scorps @ Jan 6 2013, 12:54 AM) why megadeth (dave mustaine) doesn't give credit to some songs, like Tornado of souls, such as for Marty Friedman's solo on that song? I don't know. Usually he already lay all the riff, song structure and lyric. He even laid some of the drum track on certain songs. Maybe it take more than that to be credited in Megadeth. |

QUOTE(scorps @ Jan 6 2013, 10:56 PM) but some songs on their latest album (13), dave mustaine mentioned the producer Johnny K as the co writer ... That's his attempt to make the album more catchy. Dave always do that when he asked someone outside of the band co-write the songs. I don't think it's the record label decision. Megadeth pretty much have 100% control over their direction since 2 decades ago.here the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteen_(Meg...)#Track_listing This post has been edited by Angel of Deth: Jan 6 2013, 11:24 PM |

Better, HD quality. Now everybody can judge the song fairly. For me it's an okay song, just ordinary. I liked Guns Drugs and Money even more as radio-friendly tune. |

Broderick is too good for Megadeth anyway, his talent was wasted there. Megadeth are a great band, but Broderick is that kind of guitarist who needs to have fellow bandmates accommodating him, because he's that good. Not there other way around.
About Shawn, he did his job well. Very strict to the original arrangement, which I suspect had to do with Dave Mustaine. Glad he finally decided to pursue his own interest because just like Chris, he is a great musician and composer. |
