Megadeth is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1983. Founded by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson following Mustaine's departure from Metallica, the band has since released twelve studio albums, six live albums, two EPs, twenty six singles, thirty-two music videos, and three compilations.

As a pioneer of the American thrash metal movement, Megadeth rose to international fame in the 1980s and was ranked as one of the "Big Four of Thrash," along with Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, who were responsible for creating, developing and popularizing the thrash metal sub-genre. Megadeth has experienced numerous line-up changes, due partly to the band's notorious substance abuse problems. From 1983 to 2002, Mustaine and Ellefson were the only continuous members of the band. However, following extensive physical therapy, Mustaine reformed the band in 2004 and released The System Has Failed, followed by United Abominations in 2007; the albums debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #18 and #8, respectively. Megadeth, along with their new lead guitarist Chris Broderick, released their twelfth studio album, titled Endgame, on September 15, 2009, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200.

In the band's 25 active years, Megadeth has had 20 official members, with Dave Mustaine remaining as the driving force and main songwriter.

Megadeth is known for its distinctive instrumental style, often featuring dense, intricate passages and trade off guitar solos. Mustaine is also known for his "snarling" vocal style, as well as his recurring lyrical themes including politics, war, addiction, personal relationships, and the occult.

Dave Mustaine is ex Metallica. Kena kicked out due to drugs and he regret to this day cause Metallica is 100x more famous.

Slayer - guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, and drummer Dave Lombardo - scored a major breakthrough upon the original release of Seasons in the Abyss (Slayer’s fifth studio album overall), as it was the group’s first album to hit the US Top 40, and saw Slayer playing to the biggest crowds of their career with 91's "Clash of the Titans" tour.

The American Carnage Tour, originally scheduled to take place in January and February, had to be postponed due to Slayer vocalist/bassist Tom Araya's treatment for severe back pain, an occupational hazard for the rocker who is known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing.  A surgical procedure in January corrected the problem once and for all, and he felt better almost immediately. 

"Right after the surgery, " said Araya, "I could tell that the issue was fixed.  There's no more pain, it just feels really good.  I'm really excited and I'm anxious to get together with the rest of the guys and start rehearsing again.  We cancelled two tours, and I don't feel great about that, but I couldn't deal with the pain anymore, and that's now completely gone.  I know the fans are excited to see the band - the tour is on, we're keeping our word, there will be no more cancellations."

Slayer. The Chicago Tribune's Greg Kot wrote that Slayer is "one of the great American rock bands of the last 30 years, forget about genre." Indeed, few bands come close to matching the intensity that Slayer - guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, vocalist/bassist Tom Araya, and drummer Dave Lombardo - bring to its live shows, having been named "Best Live Band" by numerous media outlets including Revolver, SPIN, and Metal Hammer.  2009's World Painted Blood (American Recordings) offers a Slayer-ized point of view of our world - God's terrifying global genocide, the chaos of our broken political system, the way-too-close proximity of world horrors that technology has brought us, and a chilling hypothesis of how the rest of the world might view America. Endgame is an awesome album with great music and guitar solos. Solos are the most important reason to play guitar.

On November 17, 2010, Dave Mustaine has officially announced in the Megadeth Cyber Army Chat Room that Megadeth will soon be recording their 13th album in Vic's Garage (Megadeth's Studio). Dave Mustaine said these words about the new upcoming album; "So, right now I have Ken Eisennagel, you may remember him from the last two records doing engineering for all of the pre-production phases of Megadeth records? Well, he is here [Megadeth’s studio - Vic's Garage] going over all of the new Megadeth stuff that I am working on… believe it or not we have five songs almost finished for the new Megs record already!"[109] The album name and release date is still to be announced. On December 18, 2010, it was announced that Megadeth and Slayer will join forces once again for European Carnage Tour in March and April 2011.[110] Megadeth is also confirmed for fourth annual of Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in July and August 2011. On January 25, 2011, another Big 4 show was announced, this time in the USA. The gig will take place on April 23, 2011 in Indio, CA at the Empire Polo Club. This is the only scheduled stop in the USA for now, this will also be the first time all of the Big 4 members play on the same stage in the USA.[111] On January 31, Dave Mustaine posted the following on his Twitter: "In the studio today working on guitar parts! This is about Dave walking away from the music industry. Dave Mustaine said so himself.

Just listen the album. Compared to the previous I think this album is way better than Endgame. If I could vote it maybe it would be 8.5.

The songs already known, that were leaked, are really amazing, mainly Sudden Death and Never Dead. Both songs are off the charts. Maybe the weakest of them all is Whose Life...Public Enemy No 1 is pretty good with a good solo and great performance by Dave Mustaine.
The rest of the album...Fast Lane is a pretty intense song, not very fast, but really strong and intense. New World Order is one of my least favourites of the album, it remindes me The System Has Failed or United Abominations..it´s ok but not Megadeth. Black Swan is an old song of Megadeth from the United Abominations cd, it was remastered and changed "here and there". Wrecker is really good song, very Megadeth reminds me from the Youthanasia album, fast song and lyrics are a real criticism for someone. We The People is a typical song from the United Abominations cd, it's a song about the present situation in America and around the world, it can function as slogan of incentive to the people (We the people is political slogan), technically the drums are the best of this song with Shawn Drover dominationg all the way, although the incentive is there, it is also a dark song. Millennium Blind as a great first 2:40 with a more dramatic pace, after that it continues with a fast pace, with drums playing a great part of the song...the solo is really ok and it fits in the drama of the song. 13 is the most emotionally driven song, mainly Dave Mustaine, it may function as a reminder that Megadeth are here to stay and will go on with greart power, i find really great material in 13 song, way better than The hardest part... of the last album, that was the most dramatic of Endgame. Deadly Nightshade is a heavy song with heavy riff and good solo... it's one of the most agressive songs of "13" in all aspects vocally, in guitar, bass and drums. Guns Drugs & Money don't have a lot to say it's seems to be a filler song. It seems that Dave and the others saw they have time to fill and made this song...it's a good song but not in the pack of the best songs of the album...it's a more generic song that doesn't mean anything in particular, is fast, heavy ... but lacks in feeling.

I think it has better songs and less generic songs than Endgame. This album is much more heavier with greater songs. Never Dead, Sudden Death, Public Enemy No 1 and 13 are really amazing maybe a pack of songs that is one of the best made by Megadeth in this decade. This 4 songs played live must be amazing and have to be present in future setlists (they seem to sound amazing live)

Great concert in SG earlier this year.. but dissapointed they x main Tornado of Soul (read that they played that the 1st time in SG few years back). But, they did Holy War / In My Darkest Hour / Holy War during the encore, which was awsum
