Bro, a few points to take note.
(1) do u have a region-free blu-ray player? just so you're aware that blu-ray discs from UK could be region B locked, hence only playable on region B or region-free players (or BD-ROMs on PCs). so unless u have one of these, make sure the discs are region-free.
(2) for personal use, should not be taxable. to be on safe side, usually unwrap so that they appear "used" and make sure no multiple copies of same title. if your friend has been in the UK for a while (e.g. studying/working), all the better.
(3) however, they make kacan u not from the duty angle, but from the censorship angle.
That's what i can think of.
If u want to reclaim VAT, you'll need the receipt and make sure u have enough time at Heathrow as the queue can get very long at the VAT Refund counter.
Btw, just got this email from amazon uk:
bro terranova
thx for you very detailed explaination. ive been reading the past threads v2 till v6 yesterday and found a lot of usefull info.. lol 8 working manhours gone hahaha... Just recently only kena the BD poison.. the poison very KAWKAW especially to the wallet haha... planning to reach the magic 100 mark.. but really need to pace myself haha.. brought before from a few regulars of this thread.. all very easy to deal with ..kudos
im very aware of the region lock thing and have checked carefully all the BD that i plan to order.. but thx for the heads up on the VAT.. a lot of potential savings there lol.. minus the headache from the ketamzz somemore.. saving on shipping cost and VAT.. almost can buy a plane ticket to UK haha airasia of coz ...
anyway plan to make a small shipment from amazon uk just to see what can potentially go wrong.. keeping it under 500 to avoid ketam eye...
need to ask one more thing.. if i choose standard shipping confirm need to go collect at KLIA or if got problem only need to go?--even if lepas kustam... i know priority shiping DHl or whatever will settle everything for u then u pay them..
thx in advance
