Is this from Bestbuy.com? Is it a steelbook version as I understand they have an exclusive?

I bought mine from there as well. Waiting for my friend to send it over to me.

I don't think so. I was hoping as well as even Thailand has a steelbook version.

Peraanmai Blu-ray Review

THEATRICAL: AYNGARAN INTERNATIONAL FILMS PVT LTD.

DISC:
Region: Free
Run Time: Approx. 155 minutes
Video Bit Rate: Approx. 28 Mbps
Case: Standard Blu-Ray Case

VIDEO:
Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1
Resolution: 1080p/23.976fps

AUDIO:

DESCRIPTION:
The film revolves around is a tribal forest guard who works for the welfare of his tribe and spreading education among them. Whilst, on a team bonding mission with five college girls, whom initially mistreat him due to his caste, they stumble on a group of foreign mercenaries who are planning to stop India’s scientific progress by destroying a rocket launch by using missiles. How the team bonds together and defeat the potential threat forms the crux of the story.

VIDEO:
Yet another outstanding release from the Ayngaran stable. The blu-ray transfer is near-perfect with plenty of depth and detail. There is no evidence of DNR or edge enhancement. The black levels are pretty impressive. This is indeed quite a flawless release. Kudos to Ayngaran and Sunny.

AUDIO:
This disc boasts both the LPCM 5.1 uncompressed audio and DTS HD Master Audio. This disc features belly churning bass, makes very good use of the rear speakers and the HFs are not overly done. The dialogues are very crisp and clear.

BOTTOM LINE
This disc is not for everyone, decent flick, A+ disc. However, Jeyam Ravi fans will not be disappointed. This disc comes RECOMMENDED

Movie: 3/5
Video: 3/5
Audio: 4/5

I think you should open a special thread for this kind of BD. The information is relevant but to very few foumers on this thread I believe. Just a suggestion. whistling.gif

aiya..dont be like this ma..
still relevant what, still a BD

Just suggestion only. Maybe we should rename the v7 of this thread to: The Official ENGLISH Blu-Ray Thread (kianwee can consider?). Then anyone else can start to have the other language movies as their own exclusive thread. This was forumers can zoom straight to the relevant forum for information and discussion. This way sky can be the official info man for Tamil/Hindi Blu Rays. At least give him due recognition for his/her efforts to share such information. I think sky spends a fair bit of his/her time researching for such materials. rclxms.gif

Agree? hmm.gif

with soon they going to release cicakman BD, later we will have malay thread as well tongue.gif

This one maybe not necessary yet. How much can you discuss on one Malay BD? Maybe 1 post per month? Wait until there are more releases on Malay movies. Cicakman 2?

The Samsung one is at RM17,999 (LED) while the new Panasonic Plasma TX P50VT20 (50in 600Hz 3D plasma) is at RM14,999 (currently only Best Denki has stocks, but i'd assume others will hv it soon).

And each TV only comes with ONE active shutter glasses, additional units at RM400 each. My biggest gripe with them, the weight as there's battery and the active shutter glasses on them.

It slides off the bridge of my nose in less than one minute.... imagine watching Avatar while holding on to them the whole period...

Dude, or is it yr PS3 dont support DTS MA out??? LOLZ

I think Lord of The Ring Trilogy UK version will soon price reduce cause all three individual title all dropped price just now.  hmm.gif

Please be aware that the UK version is region B.

PS: Sky, take it easy, no need to be so sensitive. If you feel discriminated, my apologies, none intended. notworthy.gif doh.gif

Bro, looking at your suggestion i did felt i would be isolated for good here.

Im just a normal human being , like the rest of us. This is just a small matter bro.

Its just about Blu-ray , an universal thing that each of us in this world watch & enjoy and share experience. So dont apologize , think first before you suggest something. I hope i can stay here and not being isolate after all?

There is another fella in 500 Hyper Elite Club. On another note, Tun sld have exceeded 600 mark by now sweat.gif

600 mark is definitely super elite. I know of another elite who has >500 about 6 months ago. And he only started collecting less than 2 years ago. So if we extrapolate to today, he should already exceed 600 as well. rclxub.gif notworthy.gif

Wonder if they actually have time to watch those BD's. icon_idea.gif hmm.gif

So, if I buy that Lord of the Rings trilogy Region free from Amazon.uk should be able to play?
Thats great..
*
It has been mentioned several times on this thread as well as on bluray.liesinc.net that LOTR trilogy from UK is not region free (but region B) and therefore it will not play on local region A BD players and PS3. But on the Prime 3.0, it should be fine, I believe.

Amazon just gave me 50% rebate on my SPR as I have arranged to ship it to my friend in the US and too much hassle to arrange for return. I asked for 50% rebate and they almost immediately gave me. Should have asked for more. rclxub.gif

Maybe for those of you who have received your copy can try to get the rebate. thumbup.gif

I wrote to them this morning just to ask about any replacement plan for Saving Private Ryan BD because of the audio sync issue.

When I checked my email just now, I see 2 emails from Amazon, one responding to my query one about a refund. In their response, they refunded to me 100% including shipping cost and asked me to keep the BD.

Really got me scratching my head, I wasn't even complaining as the lip sync issue don't bother me much. I just owned th BD and it's DHL shipping for free.

Thanks for the info. I just wrote to them again demanding a 100% refund and questioned them on the inconsistent practice. Hopefully I will also end up with 100%. drool.gif
