Tested Sherlock Holmes. The scene where Robert having a fight has very good AQ indeed. Powerful LFE and good background music!

I tested out the Avatar BD. Pana BD60 has no problem playing from the start albeit a bit slower than other BDs.

The Dune Prime 3.0 needs 'Next' to be pressed to get it to main menu. Yet to try out my other BDP, Sony S360.

anyone ordered Saving Private Ryan BR? biggrin.gif

I am holding my horses for now to see whether it did apply 25Hz filter on this BD release. Apparently (or as claimed) Avatar along with LOTR Trilogy have been 'capped' with 25Hz filter doh.gif vmad.gif mad.gif I read it in the avsforum.

But the lip-sync aint on all BDs. Some noticed it but others have flawless audio (according to avsforum)

On another note, I think it was not being treated with the crappy 25Hz filter.

Tested the SPR. It is indeed marvelous for AQ for Omaha Beach scene.

My PB13-Ultra and the rest of the speakers have to work hard. No doubt it has more details than DVD and less noise too.

I've rip it to m2ts, playback using Dune with no problem with dts-HD
no time to convert it to BDMV...tried last time but the audio go mixed up....but even the m2ts is fabulous....
I purposely bought a used copy of this just for the rip  tongue.gif

btw, watched Minority Report last night....the fight scene at the car making factory got some LFE action when the weapon being fire and the gun shot where Anderton shot Joe Crow were very very good....the film colours and soft edges (on sepia mode) were intentionally (as on DVD), so no sharp sharp & live colors there, but details does improve a lot as compared to DVD especially the audio  thumbup.gif

The fight scene with the uber cool weapon is a good one. Try to set your sub to run at '25Hz' setting. It will change the whole atmosphere. No longer as involving as it should be. On another note, Fox did not reply my e-mail yet.

Saving Private Ryan stopped their sale at Amazon.......problem with the AQ........ hmm.gif

I doubt so. I have a SPR BD. Its AQ is astoundingly clean, more dynamics and surround details as compare to DVD ver. Its LFE is a very good too thumbup.gif

watched 40mins of SPR last night....never notice any lip sync issue at all....the AQ is superb......but PQ so-so lar

I cranked it up til -10dB. At this point of volume, the firepower and surround is AWESOME. Bags of details and punch. The expansive beach with engine roars, machine guns firing, explosion, etc create a very immersive yet gruesome atmosphere.

I watched Avatar 3D in cinema and tested it on my peasant B650 sammy 2 nights ago. Saw so many details I couldn't see the first time round. biggrin.gif

Never watch it in cinema. Been quite sometime since I watched a movie in cinema. Tested the avatar on my peasant HD65. Even at 720p, the PQ is very good. I bet it would be very jaw-dropping on a 1080p pj. Maybe go to Mr Tan's place to watch hmm.gif
