Wow, you're really one big Bollywood-movie fan aren't you? How do ya manage to watch all that, plus some other Hollywood stuff I bet - one after the other or you planned watching every other night or maybe weekends? How do ya do it... because I did order quite a number of titles in one go during the last Black Friday sale (English movie lah...) but most yet to unwrap; let alone watching 'em....  blush.gif

Yo mate,

Those are not for personal use, all are up for sale. The cheapest i would offer.

A month ago..the prices were unbelievable.. RM12x.xx. But now i've found a new source and i'm offering the cost price..not a single cent more or less.

I'm reselling this to spread wide the Bollywood releases in MYS , i know there are loads of Bollywood fans in Malaysia. This is an opportunity.

I've been offered to be the Distributor in Malaysia, i didnt pursue the offer cos its not easy to be a Distributor..

If you are interested, there you go for a start..4 titles in hand , expecting 5-10 in another 2 weeks time..

I'll update them here..Also , i'll post reviews from various source here for reference..

My pick of the day for a dropped price title.

Eyes Wide Shut, starring Nicole Kidman brows.gif and Tom Cruise.

The movie was shot during they were together. I guess they separated after this film or so..

Good deal of the day USD9.99 . Just watch Nicole & Tom bare naked and obscene..

Gorgeous

Attached Image

Just got up the couch after 2hours 55 minutes to be exact , finished watching Sivaji The Boss blu-ray. I must say the first Tamil blu-ray ever to be released in history has made such a huge impact for the rest of the movies to be filmed in such high quality. Not going to review deep into the storyline though, cut short & only emphasizing on Blu-ray disc features.

The disc is 50GB storage with no special features. All i have to say is,hats off to Sunny Sharan (Blu-ray Project Manager) in the UK for a such wonderful disc release. The following is the disc features

Video Features

Video codec: MPEG-4 AVC
Video resolution: 1080p
Aspect ratio: 2.39:1

Audio Features

Tamil: LPCM 5.1 (48kHz, 24-bit)
Tamil: Dolby Digital 5.1

This excellent disc features stellar Picture Quality & Audio Quality. Although i dont have a HT to test the AQ, my HTPC speaker did a great job, made me enjoy every moment of the movie especially PQ.

I must say for all Tamil blu-ray fans , this is a must have in your shelves. Only missing element is the featurettes, could had more features like the DVD release.

Personal Rating : 5/5 (PQ , AQ) thumbup.gif

Rocket Singh , Salesman Of The Year Blu-ray Review

This is the first 'Yash Raj' BD to be released after their initial wave of eleven titles on BD. Personally I have been looking forward to this BD for several reasons, one of them being, to gauge how Yash Raj has improved upon their initial releases. On this count, I must say that Yash Raj deserves considerable praise for having listened to their customers and for incorporating the changes as required. Not to say that this is a perfect BD or that there aren't a few things that Yash Raj still needs to work on, but the fact is that overall Yash Raj shows tremendous improvements and most importantly they have shown a desire to meet their customers expectations and requirements. The movie is much better than the average Bollywood fare and it is presented with picture quality that is very good and satisfying. The lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio track is also pretty good. All this is accompanied by a very good set of Extras (special features). In short, I found this 'Yash Raj' BD, to be the most satisfying BD, released so far by any Indian video company, as should most other Hindi movie fans. Highly Recommended. biggrin.gif

Special Mention:
No Watermark Logo, during songs or otherwise. <-- Kudos to 'Yash Raj' for listening to our feedback. :clapping:
No scrolling advertisements during songs. <-- All Bollywood Video companies, please take note.
No advertisements, forced or otherwise, before or during the movie. <-- All Bollywood Video companies, please take note.
Separate 'Song Menu' to allow direct selection of song. <-- This should be a no brainer for all Bollywood films.
Special Features presented on a seperate DVD to allow more space on the BD for the main feature. <-- All Bollywood Video companies, please take note.

Review:
Luckily for me I had not seen 'Rocket Singh' earlier, which made the overall experience of watching it on Blu-Ray, that much better. The film itself, is quite good and is far superior to majority of the crap normally churned out by Bollywood. The performances of all the actors is top notch and the film avoids falling into most bollywood cliches, while still playing out quite entertainingly.

As good as the movie is, the video quality of this BD makes it that much better. Any problems with the picture quality are only minor at most. For one, there is a few seconds of the film where one can see a very light line running from top to bottom of the frame. Probably the result of poor 'negative' storage. Other than that I felt that the picture is not as sharp as it could be, probably due to DNR being used. For I also could hardly make out any 'film grain' throughout the movie. Overall as good as the picture is, it just does not pop out, specially the colors, like it does with the 'BIG Home Video - Ghajini' BD. But what comes as a very pleasant surprise, is that there are absolutely no 'watermark logos', during the songs or otherwise, anywhere during the movie. One thing that 'Yash Raj' really needs to work on asap, is the opening 'Yash Raj' logo during the menus. This seems to be a totally artifact ridden, upsampled standard definition video of the logo and is an embarassement to them, that they would be well served to avoid. The strange thing is that the same logo is rendered perfectly fine in HD, when it appears at the begining of the film. As pointed out by 'MHafner' "How difficult can it be to use this HD version for the BD menus?"

The sound quality too is quite good, keeping in mind that a film of this type does not really call for a very active sound stage. The only problem I do have with the audio, is the excessive & very boomy bass. This is a problem I ahve found quite common to 'Yash Raj' BDs and historically their DVDs too. I hope this is an issue they will address sooner than later. The volume level of the audio tracks, is slightly on the higher side, but it is not as bad as most other Indian BDs & DVDs. I hope Yash Raj will pay some attention to this too. The BD includes a redundant & space wasting lossy DD track along with a 'DTS-HD MA' track. The 'DTS-HD MA' track is set as the default audio track, which is how it should always be and I hope other Indian BD companies are paying attention. This is another thing that 'Yash Raj' deserves to be applauded for. I know, I know, this is basic stuff, but then again, even getting the 'basics' can be a tall task when it comes to Bollywood home video.

In addition to the very good video and audio, 'Yash Raj' has also included a very good set of special features. In what could be the begining of a very healthy trend, the special features are presented on a separate DVD of their own . Additionaly, there is another reason to be happy with this BD from 'Yash Raj', there are No Watermark Logos on this BD, during songs or otherwise. Kudos to 'Yash Raj' for listening to their customers and doing the right thing. Quite evidently, I am quite impressed and satisfied with this BD from 'Yash Raj'. I Highly Recommend this BD, with absolutely no reservations.

My ratings:
Movie: 4.25 out of 5.0
Video: 4.5 out of 5.0
Audio: 4.0 out of 5.0
Extras: 4.25 out of 5.0 (Special features in HD would have increased this score)
Overall: 4.5 out of 5.0 (Poor packaging kept the score from being even higher)

There is few types of blu-ray disc cases.

Scanavo : 11mm 1 Disc , 15mm 2 Disc
Amaray : 14mm Single / Double Disc case
Hama : Blu-ray Jewel case

None of them are shipped to Malaysia. (please correct me if im wrong).

I tried buying the cases from many sites, shipping to malaysia is not an option. cry.gif

All,

I hope you guys dont mind my opinion on Amazon and their shipping mishaps.

For the past 1-2 months i've been reading this thread and i barely see anyone not commenting on Amazon's shipping.

The comments and complaint demoralized myself to purchase from Amazon.

Please advise if its rather safe or loss if i were to make a deal with Amazon. Please share your experiences while purchasing BLU-RAY..

I've only had 1 prob so far. Merchant fella send me the wrong things. I dispute n he deny everything n dowanna talk anymore. I shot Amazon n email n promptly got a full refund. Best thing is, the barang that was sent, I get to keep. laugh.gif

Thanks for clarifying bro..this is something to reconsider buying from Amazon..

Since you're the moderator, can i ask you if you could start a topic "The Official Bollywood Blu-ray Thread"? cause some suggested too.

I still assume , i can post happily in current The Official Blu-ray Thread..what's your thought?

-EDITED-

Lage Raho Munna Bhai Blu-ray Review
The spirit of Gandhi lives (literally) in 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai.'

user posted image

First Words

Munna is in love.. With the voice of popular Radio Jockey Jhanvi. Life is beautiful for Munna - his "dadagri" business is flourishing, he listens besottedly to the radio for hours every day, he dreams of marrying Jhanvi…

There is just one "minor" problem..Jhanvi thinks Munna is a Professor of History..Poor Munna!
As he tries to sort out this "minor" entanglement, the most unusual thing occurs…

user posted image

Video Transfer

Eros Entertainment gives us Lage Raho Munna Bhai with an above average if not extremely brilliant 1080p AVC encoded transfer. Colors are well saturated, but never rise to the level of knock your socks off splendor that a lot of Bollywood extravaganzas do. Detail is best in medium shots and close ups, where every little jot and tittle (not to mention hair) on various characters can be seen.

There is an overall softness to this effort which isn't too troublesome (and in fact I assume must be intentional), but don't get this BD expecting reference quality visuals. (I've included in my screencaptures the rather charming pre-feature PR hype about the "new" Blu- ray format that is on most of the Eros releases).

user posted image

Audio Transfer

As mentioned above, Lage Raho Munna Bhai just barely qualifies as a Bollywood musical, but even with that disclaimer, one is disappointed to see a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix as the only soundtrack offering here. While it's fine for what it is, one can only imagine what a lossless track could have provided for the sonic experience of the film. I will say that this is a rather impressive track from the low frequency angle. Everything from the deafening "thunk" of tablas to the lower orchestral instruments is reproduced with subwoofer-vibrating efficacy.

The rest of the mix is certainly fine, with dialogue clear, and musical elements distortion free, but it's really rather lackluster, without a very inventive use of surrounds and surprisingly few foley effects to help the immersive qualities. This is certainly nowhere near reference quality for a BD, and a real disappointment for those who want their audio experience to be as high-def as the visual.

user posted image

Supplements

Aside from Eros trailers, the only other supplement is a 28 minute SD interview with Govinda and Khan. Unfortunately it's in Hindi with no subtitle options, so I can't comment on what they're talking about.

Summary

Lage Raho Munna Bhai is a sweet and charming buddy comedy cum love story that also features an appealing sociopolitical element. If it will perhaps appeal to the worldwide audience a little less than to the Indian, it's nonetheless an enjoyable and actually edifying experience that helps bring Gandhi's philosophy alive in a modern day environment

Amazon has the No.1 customer service in the world, hands down! All the problems you read or heard with regard to shipping are due on our side (that is our Customs, Pos Malaysia or KDN etc). 2 years ago when Tower.com used to deliver blu-rays to M'sia, I'm having a bad time with their customer service... it took them a week to reply my email while Amazon only took under 24 hours!! That's a world difference there, bro....  nod.gif

I agree with you, its the Customs..but i've got my parcels this week without being tampered at all from DHL. My suppliers sends it through them..

Its secured plus faster, takes less than 3 days to reach..so convenient.. rclxm9.gif
