actually, the info from Maxis CS is correct. iPhone = INTERNET phone. since Maxis is the approved iPhone carrier, and the settings are installed via iTunes, there's no way for you to totally disable the data access via GPRS / EDGE.

I read thru your thread, why are you trying to skip out on the 2nd most important feature on iPhone, anyway? its like buying a Sony PSP to listen to MP3 songs smile.gif

restart the iPhone? hold the sleep button + the home button at least 20 seconds, until you see the phone switch off, keep holding until you see the Apple logo...

starting in OS 2.0 actually, the data roaming is off by default ... so you will only have data charges when you are on your own (home) network.
this means even if you have ANY kind of roaming, you have to specifically go and activate the data roaming, only then will it work.

in iOS 4, Apple added another feature, Cellular Data switch. so for those who want an iBrick, you can disable ALL data services at any time and just use your iPhone as a phone and only go online at WiFi zones.
