if you are in their 3g coverage then the speed is comparable if not faster. Only a few cities have 3g coverage in malaysia.DiGi iPhone Discussion Thread | V1, Official iDiGi Price Plan is out!

QUOTE(z3171600 @ Mar 2 2010, 08:52 AM) Hmm.. This is weird. For current digi '3G' customer, are you guys using 3G Turbo or actually 3G broadband? Because IINM, 3G Turbo is promised a speed of only up to 384kbps while broadband is higher, at 700kbps. Please clarify here, because these two is definitely different. I believe 3g turbo and broadband is the same using 3g signal. Just in broadband area, the 3g speed is greater.Alright. I just went to Digi website. And they actually offer Likely Average Speed of 700kbps down and 200kbps up. For Internet Unlimited 58, the quota is 3GB, however unlimited here refer to you still can use the internet after exceeding quota but at throttled speed of 128kbps. Btw signing up unlimited 58 for the first year will have discount of rm10. so only rm48 per month for 'unlimited' data. |

QUOTE(blademike @ Mar 2 2010, 02:45 PM) geez... I just got my iphone last week from maxis. Is it likely that they are going to re-structure their ivalue monthly fees for subscribers who just signed up like me? Coz if not, and if digi's offer is better, I'm really unlucky then maxis might adjust in response to competition but I do not think you can change your plan since you have signed for 24 months. |

QUOTE(Kain_Sicilian @ Mar 4 2010, 08:28 AM) That was what I used to believe in, until I switched from DiGi to Maxis. Maxis line was worse! Now I'm happily back on DiGi line. Just hope that DiGi will have a cheap package for iphone once it's launched. I am using digi on my iphone currently. Digi is great and good value for money, however their 3g coverage is very poor. Even in some 3g coverage area (as per digi website), there is no 3g, only edge. |

QUOTE(potionmaster1987 @ Mar 4 2010, 03:34 PM) totally agree dude....I also using digi for my iphone.....however...the Edge connection is not bad after all...in fact...I really happy using digi edge connection.... quite fast although not as fast as 3g.....maybe it is because not many people using digi nowadays...... the only problem with using edge is that people cannot called in and go straight into voicemail. |

QUOTE(vandetta @ Mar 9 2010, 11:02 AM) this is the first time i heard about iphone 4g rumors, if like this then not worth it buy now, then after three months come new upgrade. This happen when maxis first got the iphone 3g. Then 2-3 months later, iphone 3gs was released. BUT note that malaysia only get 3gs 1-2 months after release. |

I do not think that maxis is worried as they have tied thousands of customers for 1-2 years contract. Will definitely see some price competition in july when the new iphone is released.

QUOTE(abubin @ Mar 30 2010, 05:06 PM) why didn't they come out with something for prepaid users? i am currently using maxis's iphone prepaid plan. So no commitment from my side. Hehe...planning to get the digi iphone and sell my old iphone3gs. purely want to maximise their profit and prevent someone complaining in lowyat that their prepaid credit has somehow mysteriously disappeared. |

QUOTE(rayzel @ Mar 30 2010, 05:15 PM) Since the digi outright sale still the same as Maxis.. this would hold the 2nd hand value of iphones.. if that is the case, wait till july then buy the new iphone (hopefully). I prefer 12months contract than 24mthsNeed cash is it?... take the 36 mths 0% installment.. but so long worrr.. like never ending.. by that time.. sudah got 5G Iphone.. hahaha... |

QUOTE(mandelism @ Mar 30 2010, 06:55 PM) Digi definitely wins in terms of packages and pricing (tho the iphone price is similar, maxis announced today rm200 rebate till 20th april) the speed of digi 3g is comparable with maxis if not faster, if you have the coverage.bt main concern is, COVERAGE, SPEED and services. All 3 Maxis wins napshot. so tats the issue..not sure of Digi's 3g what do you mean by services? From a personal experience, I used to use maxis 3g but churn over to digi now. The speed is so much faster. This post has been edited by jphlau: Mar 30 2010, 07:09 PM |

QUOTE(luvjim @ Apr 14 2010, 04:15 PM) Sorry for noob question here, will still deduct from quota. But know that you can only use ur data or call in edge, e.g. you will miss your call if you online in edgeIs it by using EDGE also consider as deduct from the data usage quota? Or there is separate charges when connecting to EDGE? |
