Can we downgrade the firmware from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2? If it is not I don't think wanna get it cos cannot be jailbroken sad.gif
*
AFAIK, Apple no longer signs FW3.1.2, so u cant downgrade if u r already at FW3.1.3.

This applies even to existing iphones/ipods that went up from FW3.1.2 to FW3.1.3, u cant reverse the FW anymore... thats y most ppl will tell u NOT to update to FW3.1.3

A lot have asked this, so here goes: YES and NO...

kanasai, how sure are u? not after 6 months then im free of the bond? then i better take EPP 24
*
Bro, u asked and ppl answer, and u still doubt their answer... then u go read the fine prints la... LOLZ

Yes, u r still bonded to a 24 mths contract... this plan is for u to BUY iPhone and pre-pay 6mths iDigi plan.... after that, u still need to pay iDigi plan monthly... the diff here is u dont need to fork out RM4000 up front to pay for all 24 mths plan....

Yes, the 0%PP is better PROVIDED yr CC has RM4000 avail balance...

from what 4 times calling to confirm with all 4 diff cs, we can terminate the line or switch after 6months... someone pls go to the digi centre and confirm this pls cos i myself doesnt really believe in this... you buy the 16gb = 2490 but sign up for iDiGi238 only RM1889 o.O... seriously... 4 cs told me exactly the same thing that im not bond to any contract...
*
Dude, READ the fine print at the bottom of the Digi Iphone site or the flyer. It states "ALL options above are tied to a 24-months contract".

And all CS is spoke to via D'Chat, phone call and those standing there says ALL are tied to a 24 mths contract.... i think u got April Fool'ed???

1. The amount at the top of the table is the iPhone's price. Every iDigi plan have different discount level for the iPhone. So the higher iDigi you take, the more discount you get.

Ok, to put things in a simpler manner, we separate the price of the iPhone and the total upfront payment for the iDigi 88 plan.

You opt for iDigi 88, Digi wants you to pay up RM88 for 24 months, all in one short.

So, RM88 X 24 months X 5% service tax = RM 2,217.6

Since you take iDigi88, you can have the iPhone at RM 1,590. This amount you also need to pay in full.

So RM 2,217.6 + RM 1,590 = RM 3,807.60 (make sure your credit card has enough limit to cover this amount)

Digi wants you to pay this amount, so they charge this amount to your credit card. However, you are paying this amount in installments right, so the credit card's bank converts this purchase into 0% interest 24 months installment.
Therefore RM 3,807.60 / 24 months = RM 158.65 rounded up to RM 159.
As you can see, you pay this monthly RM 159 to your credit card bank, not Digi. Digi already has the full amount taken from your credit card bank. So for the first 24 months, you need not pay anything to Digi.
If let's say your usage for that particular month exceeds your iDigi plan's limit, Digi will charge you for the extra usage and it will be reflected in your monthly bill statements. That you need to pay to Digi.
Beginning from 25th months and onwards, you already settled your credit card's installments. You pay your RM88 monthly to Digi as per normal. From this on, you are no longer tied to the contract, so you can change or cancel your iDigi88 plans if you like.
4. If your iPhone got stolen, you still need to finance the installments provided to you by your credit card bank, nothing to do with Digi here.

Added on April 2, 2010, 7:48 pmGot mine short while ago....

No more starbucks coffee, only O2 water... was told that "someone" is bringing it soon....

Digi Priority, Biz Line and Company Biz subscribers are directed to collect their pre-order iPhones to Digi SOHO, reason? Digi SOHO is the best furnished and most impressive of all Digi centers, so these "special"clients are directed to SOHO to collect it in peace and quiet and not join the Q and crowd..... lolz...

Was also told that if u r asked to collect yr pre-order in Digi SOHO, u can still get the free Yellow casing...

AND, as of today, ALL public can walk into the oval to buy, only that u dont get the free yellow casing bonus.... and u still need to register at the entrance, wait they call u to check yr details, then wait for booths to collect yr payment, then wait to collect yr iPhone, then wait to activate yr iphone....

Today was smooth.... the numbers were already calling me when i am done at each point (not many ppl ma...)... but they expect a big(ger) tomorrow and Sun, so if u r going there, be forewarned.... brows.gif brows.gif

I thought if we choose the upfront 2144, then the contract is only for 18 months since we've already paid the first 6 months ???
*
U PAY starting from month 7 - 24..... the 1st 6 mths u oredi pay when u collect the iPhone (part of the RM2144)...

Juz to clarify.
For example

Apple Bill wants 32 3GS with EPP for 32mths iDigi 88.
*Pls notified that digi only max tied up is 24mths which is 2years*.

So once he flashes his credit card he is hooked to 24mths of tied up contract with digi and additional 12mths with his bank.

For 24mths he isn't gonna be paying any bills unless he xceed his usage
*x-reference with the chart for useage allowance*
*5% tax will be imposed on extra useage for that mth*

Untill after 24mths later bill starts coming in. And it's time he is gonna get encounter bill shock for 1 year of nightmare.
Total he had to pay for the 25th mth is 117+88 which is 205/mth.

He can choose to ditch digi by terminating his acc without penalties but he still needs to pay 117 for the last 1 year.

Total expenditure slapped by digi on these waterfish are
1990(subsidized rate)+(24x88)x5%tax=4207*total already paid*
if these waterfish ditched digi after 2years.
How do u actually get RM117/mth calculation?
[1990+(24x88)x5%tax]/36=116.87777777777__(rounded off to 117)*many fatchoi*

Total expenditure slapped by digi on these waterfish if they still want to continue.
1990(subsidized rate)+(24x88)x5%tax+12x(88x5%tax)=5316.40.

It's still cheaper compared to maxis.
Though...... it's a little bit too late.
Android market is eating up Apple.
Apple 4g is around the corner soon.
Therefore i leave the rest imagination to u guys ^.^
*
While true as per yr analogy, pls bear in mind that its APPLE who is controlling the price of the iPhones, not Digi.... thats y they "lepas" tangan after their 24 mths contract....

All digi can do to get clients is to make sure their plans are cheaper than Maxis, which is true....

And no, i dont work for Digi.... cool2.gif cool2.gif

lin00b: its for ppl who want an iPhone, and doesnt want to pay in 24 mths... its called choice, just as how u can choose how many months repayments on yr car/house loans...

cco_: you are right...

MNet: i am quite sure you can, as they have not sold out all of their pre-order sets yet.... u can try and walk up... its open to public as of yesterday...

TehWateva: no, they can print the email and photcopy yr ic for u.... free....

I dont get whats all the fuss about the 24 + 12 EPP... this plan is for those who wants to pay for the iPhone + iDigi plan across in 36mths...

Its the same cost as the 24mth EPP... only diff is its spread across 36 months and any iDigi plan u have will end after 24 mths...

If u read carefully.... the iPhone cost AND the 24 mths iDigi plan is now spread across 36 mths, instead of 24mths ... thats the ONLY diff.... RM106 monthly payment versus RM159... the cost are the SAME...

Even as the iDigi ends after the 24th month, does it mean that we will STOP using any telco after that and move back to smoke signals to contact each other?? :0 LOLZ.... U chose 36mths payment, so u hv to continue paying AND get a new plan... thats the idea....

So, its simply designed for ppl who rather pay RM106 than RM159.... they are trying to get as many ppl on board ma....

peace to all, and the choice is all yours....

sorry if someone already asked this question.

I jsut want to know.. for the payment option

Considering the idigi88
1) Iphone + 6months Digi plan -> pay 2144 up front.

So at the 7th month into Digi88 plan , Can i Change my plan ??? Or i'm bounded for another 18months ??

yea , i totally forgot to bring this question up at the digi counter
*
You are bound to the 88 payment for the next 18 mths, payable monthly.

mikelim89:Bro, cool down.... i know yr frustration but simply ask for a replacement unit. Tell them u tried restore, DiGi staff tried, and still failed..... u donwan to wait another 3/4 hours only to exchange...

Electronics purchases are by luck.... u got a lemon, so quickly demand an apple... brows.gif brows.gif its not DiGi that made the phone....

Hope u can settle it by tomorrow and enjoy yr smart phone....

LTN: Check with yr fren what did he use the phone for when the batt died after 8 hours? If you dont use iPhone but for calls and sms, it can last you 2-3 days depends on usage...

But if u use it - Safari + WiFi, Ipod + Stereo Bluetooth Headset, Navigation + GPS, Games - any combination continuously, the batt will not last as these apps takes up much power....

The above was how i "killed" my batt in 4 hours...... laugh.gif laugh.gif

TQ!

This mean all the smartphone like iPhone, HTC Legend and etc almost fast kill battery when they on net, GPS and others. right?!
Can't we have standby battery ?
*
Yes, most smartphones drains battery fast when running apps, games, and especially GPS (my N97 drains as fast when i run Garmin or Ovi Maps)... not sure abt HTC Legend but i'd assume itto be same...

Unfortunately, APPLE INC has seen fit that the iPhones' battery is NOT user replaceable... so only solutions are:-

Bring your USB cable and adapter everywhere, so u can plug it into a PC/notebook/wall plugs when yr juice are low...

Buy a car charger and charge it in your car... be warned not to get a cheapo unbranded charger as it MAY fry your charger board.... get a reputable branded one if you donwan to pay an APPLE premium...

Buy an external juice pack that recharges your iPhone battery (Mili, Morphie, etc)...

halo~

i plan to get my iphone tml !

1) i decide to buy it buy 24months installment ! but how much i need to pay on the spot if i subscribe for that package (24month)

2) what i need to take care when subscribe at Digi Center ?
-test iphone functions ? include what ? i am newbie for that phone~

any idea and comments ? please tell me ! thanks you~
*
Depends on what model u get (16GB or 32GB) and what plan (88, 138 or 238), yr credit card MUST have the total credit charge available. IE 16GB + i88 = RM159X24 = RM3816. U then only pay the monthly installments to the bank each month (RM159) but yr available credit in yr CC will be lesser by RM3816. Bear in mind that if u take 32GB + i238, u need an available credit of more than RM6000.... shocking.gif ... read the installment plan on DiGi site... lazy to copy it for u... do yr own research...

Bring yr own sim card along, ask them so copy the contacts to the phone, then call yr wife.... then try swiping the screen.... if it works, then take possession... for the other functions, they will ask u to claim warranty when u find problems at home....

Google what an iPhone is all about.... its not a regular phone..... and good luck with owning one, or at least it will make yr wife happy by having games and stuff for her to kill time....

nop..din do anything..just restart the phone.

Then its the app that causes the iPhone to hang lo..... i'd assume other apps are ok, so dont use that app anymore.....

Some apps does causes hang, esp new apps are sometimes not too stable...
