To seniors who are taking pharmacy currently, may i know after successfully graduating from the uni of nottingham, can we work in the UK without coming back to malaysia first and be registered as a pharmacist in malaysia? or we must undergo a 3-year compulsory service in the gov hospital in malaysia before we are allowed to go UK and practise as a registered pharmacist there?

pls anyone?

hi, this is my first time to post smile.gif

I am going into science foundation for the july intake, under jpa local scholarship to do biotech later on. I heard that biotech is a new course in nottingham, what prospects does it have?

For the accommodation, I got a single shared ensuite bathroom, may I know what is the room like?
*
oooh they have biotech now huh? the last time i visited their website they only have plant biotechnology.

As for the career prospects, u can simply click on the university website, it's all written there.

Brunei? job opportunities? HARH?

Has anyone heard of pharmacist not getting a job in malaysia? i certainly have never heard anyone say so...

and malaysia is still in need of pharmacists, the last time i read on the news paper, there were only barely 700+ pharmacists in whole malaysia. How's that enough? KL might be enough but other places esp those ulu ones definitely no.

But i think A lvl/ stpm will make a better foundation than any university's foundation course. Because no matter how, things u learn in A lvl/stpm will definitely be more than what u learn in foundation course. Just my opinion BTW. smile.gif

haha foundation is sufficient, yes its true but sometimes its always better to know more than what is required esp when it comes to courses like medic/pharm.

but anyways, i dont rmb seeing any min requirement for foundation students to enter Mpharm in the website. They allow meh? lol

erm..have to tell u one thing..those type of rooms..mostly are malays..
jz worry that you cant share with them..haha..

yea..i agree..i am not saying that it is 100% enough..
but for engineering,i'd say it is ok..
as we are being subdivided here very clearly..
even so,the knowledge needed for first year engineering are not too hard still.
so,i am not saying that doing A levels not good..just that..the foundation should be enough..
I am not sure how the foundation program being structured in other university college..
but at here, they have put a lot of emphasis..so no problem..
*
hmm i think A lvl physics is not enough to take engineering haha for its still manageable for someone like me. FYI. I suck in physics.

No Fees whatsoever.

Added on July 11, 2010, 5:37 pmThe only other thing you need to do is to go to the security office at the ground floor of the yellow building, aka the Student Association, or more commonly known as SA. You have to get a car sticker from them, as well as your student ID.
*
I see. Thanks.

Is there any fees i need to pay to SA in order to get the car sticker?

And i remember the senior who brought us for campus tour that day told us that we're not allowed to park in certain parking slots, can you tell me more about this? cos if parked wrongly, fines will be imposed on the car owner.

Oops. I have to clarify, you don't pay fees to the Student Association (SA). I meant the Yellow Building can also be called the Student Association Building.

The security office is located within the SA building, on the ground floor.

For the car sticker, you don't have to pay anything.

Yep, you should never park in slots for disabled students. Also don't park at the slots for staff, unless it's after office hours.

Some places, such as next to junctions, where you will make it difficult for cars to make the turn, are to be avoided too. Actually all these are just plain common sense.
*
haha alrites.

So there will be signs indicating the which slots are for disabled individuals and which are for staffs only rite? If yes, then should be ok, dont have to worry of parking in wrong slot. biggrin.gif

I see there are alot of parking space near the chemical engineering department, is it ok for other students (not chemical engineer) to park thr?

Added on July 11, 2010, 5:53 pmSo in addition to my comments above on parking, the rule of thumb is to always locate a valid parking slot first. If you can't, next step to do is to park along the yellow line where many other cars are parked. But make sure you adhere to the rule above, i.e. not to park near main junctions, because that's where you kena clamp.
*
Ok noted. But park along the yellow line wont kena saman? lol
