Actually all engineering also need the accreditation.
Perhaps E & E was recognised and accredited earlier than other courses..

There are accreditations biggrin.gif

For business programmes, there's the AMBA (Association for MBAs) for the MBA programmes, and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) for the management programmes, etc.

EE is the first engineering courses offered in Nottingham Malaysia and thus accreditation comes earlier than other courses. Fear not, it's just a matter of time for the rest of the courses getting accredited!

Not necessary, in the case of Malaysia. There are quite a number of engineers in Malaysia who are not registered with BEM. Graduates of BEng do not find issue in getting a job, too. Intel, for instance, does not care about accreditation in employing engineers. Civil truly needs accreditation though.

A very short question here, is BEng/MEng (Honours) Electrical Engineering accredited by MQA? I couldn't find it anywhere in the list here http://www.mqa.gov.my/mqr/akrKPList_print.cfm?IDAkrIPTS=197. So, does it mean that it's not accredited? And, as far as I know, "Electrical Engineering" is different from "Electrical n Electronic Engineering (EnE)" right? I begin to feel worried sad.gif

Put aside MQA. What's important is BEM. If I recall correctly, Electrical Engineering is accredited by BEM.
BEM website has a list of the accredited programme.

Sadly, Electrical Engineering isn't in the list of BEM accreditation either. I wonder why it is not in the list, do they miss it out somehow?

This is the list. I see Electrical Engineering in there.

http://www.bem.org.my/v3/body/services/acc...n_list/UNIM.pdf

All the accredited ones in the list are 4 year programmes.

can someone tell me hows the campus study day schedule?
how many semester in one year?
and holidays?
thinking to study business there
and whats the minimum requirement?

As mentioned by someone else, USUALLY its 9-5 with an hour for lunch or more. However being in the hybrid course of Mechatronic, I have to say sometimes I had to sacrifice lunch to attend modules that I'm interested in. I swear the Mechanical and E&E school needs to work on their sync U.U

However I do have friends in the business school (IBM if i'm not mistaken) that had 3, or even 2 day weeks !! Tuesday come Semenyih, Wednesday BALIK !!

You might be interested to take a look at our Academic Calendar regarding semester/holidays:

I'm guessing the Administration. Our ID photo.

Oooo, makes sense. On that note, I find our uni's enforcement on privacy invasion pretty lax =/

-----

P.S. I think so too, the BEM recognizing only the 4 year degrees just to protect the local courses =|
None the less, my friends are all working fine in Intel, Motorola etc , so don't worry you E&E guys about BEM cool2.gif

P.P.S Sorry entryman, engineer here too, can't join your "gang" of business school XD

So,conclusion is,even you don't get accredited,you still can get a job.
Haha, this question came across my mind..
If the local university bachelors degree got accredited but not ours, does it mean that theirs are better?Whereas in the world rankings theirs are lower than ours..

rxy,
Their certs might be better when comes to accreditation. But their skills may not beat us. Come on, at least it's a year lesser of study time means another year of working experience. Who is better? (Not to mention if one follows a fast track foundation, or even a 1-year Pre-U and join in Jan, one could get 1-2 years ahead of those who do the STPM-IPTA route.)

trust me, the industrial might, and engineering of the brits is much more advanced compared to msia........but they have moved on to more value added economic activities, particularly in finance.....albeit facing a setback at the moment.......

intel/wd in msia are screw driver operations.....

The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain. That kinda says a lot about their contribution to engineering. Though other countries start to share the cake like Germany being automobile Mecca, Japan being Robotics Mecca and so on.

Oh yeah, was UNMC invited to participate in the Shell Eco-Challenge Asia and the Perodua modify-a-Viva Challenge? Weird to see only IPTAs invited to those 2 events...
