QUOTE(khinfai @ May 22 2011, 02:04 PM) I cant understand for people who thought studying in UNMC must be rich. Whoa your parents must be really proud of you Well then, study hard and get scholarship. Some of the scholarship comes with monthly allowance. I did not use my parents a single cent on tuition fees and monthly allowance for meal and textbook expenses. So, stop "salute" and "jelly" bout other people and start picking up ur damn book and start studying. I just managed to get my tuition fees covered. They still needa pay for my basic living expenses there. |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ May 22 2011, 04:10 PM) Lol no la, didn't really wanna mean it in that way. Argh nvm about that.Hey is there anyone who's staying in the TTS area? Coz I'm going to study there in the coming September and currently looking out for room in TTS, not planning to apply for on campus. I tried posting in the "Properties" thread but it got brought down to the next page pretty fast when other forumers bumped theirs. If there's anyone who's in TTS do you mind doing me a favor by spreading my details to any landlords/friends you know that have a vacant room? My details are as follows. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Please spread around/look out for me can? Coz I'm from Ipoh and I can't really get to Nottingham very often just to look for accommodation. Thanks a lottttttt. |

QUOTE(NFG89 @ May 18 2011, 04:46 PM) 1. What are the ratio of local to foreigner students ? Thank you so much NFG89! Very much appreciated. I would put it at 80-20 with 80 as local. 2. How are the lesson conducted? A huge lecture and then smaller tutorial class? Or more like how we are all used to in secondary school? If so, how big are the classes/tutorials? Lectures are quite big during foundation and first year courses, but as more elective options open they get to a nice size. Tutorial classes are essentially the same as lectures. 3. Are the lecturers keen to stay back with you and help you with your problems/questions? Lecturers for the most part are more than happy to answer to problems during lecture breaks. You can also make an appointment with a lecturer for further questions. 4. Why did you guys chose Nottingham ? Decent University I would say. Also the option to switch over to Nott UK was nice. 5. This is to the students doing Civil Engineering, what exactly do you guys learn? Is it more towards maths or physics? Maybe with more specific details? Because I'm not sure if this is the right course for me yet. How difficult is it to graduate with 1st class honors in Nottingham? N/A I took Electrical and Electronic Engineering. How difficult is it to graduate with 1st class honors in Nottingham? Usually an average of 70% and above is the requirement. The exact detail is not too clear though. An average of 70 and above is achievable. Where and what do Nottingham engineering grads usually work as? A wide range of companies I would assume. I currently work at Motorola. What is the rough estimate of engineering freshgrad pays? Depends on your luck I guess XD Is the Nottingham in Malaysia ranked the same as the UK one? Not too sure about this one. I went over to Semenyih the other day to check everything out. The room they got on campus is very very small, and I went to the biggest one they got. The cafeteria looks very run down though, at least the indoor one. I did not manage to check out the library, is it a comfortable place to study? Since the rooms are so tiny, I don't think I'll spend much time there to read. |

The library is nice, but of coz it's almost impossible to find a place during peak hours. But then peak hours only exists during the exams period. haha.
AFAIK, the biggest room is the RM600+ Single Ensuite bathroom w/ A/C. That one quite comfy la... They say work is being done to improve the cafeteria ventilation. Hear for one year already and am still leaving the cafe with the oil fume smell on my shirt. It is better compared to when I first went in though. |

Okay, I am just a bit bored so I might want to make the V4.
Post here or PM if you think you have stuff we must include. Should we just add stuff or make a total overhaul with fresh new look (how fresh can it be with the limited editing function on this board, LOL)? Comments comments!! |

Like someone previosly mentioned, we should have a list of usual forumers of this thread and their course they;re doing, so it'll be useful for who need to ask any questions about the course.Post here or PM if you think you have stuff we must include. QUOTE(alexander.ch_1992 @ Apr 11 2011, 02:31 PM) Let's say right, when me move to v4 (I think it'll be soon enough?), I suggest we recheck all the links and update any information that might be not relevant dy, also at the same time list out members who are currently student of Nottingham (and also in what course) so people who come here know who to ask/private message if they really have questions regarding some of the course the members here are currently studying in. There.I actually came out with a draft but nvm, I'll send to jinjack. |
