Hey guys, i have a few questions about rooms and roommates. I didnt get an on-campus room, so they offered me a off-campus room and i have to share it with someone. So will my roommate will be a new Foundation student too? or just a new student? or a old student? and is it possible that i wont get a roommate at all? And is there anyway that i can know who my roommate is beforehand?. nervouss..

Nice daooooo , I stared at the word MALAYSIA and thought I landed on the UK website instead.

I'm still unhappy with them hiding the Rm1000 deposit/advance payment thing.

I expect a revamp to the OWA that we use in the coming months. I went to inquire about some OWA stuff, and the staff mentioned that certain features will be available in the coming months. How true is this I'm not sure, but definitely something to look forward to considering now that the main site has been revamped.

I feel kinda anxious about the star education fund interview(s). Currently prepping my poor bf.....

i hv a house for rent. do you mind to share with me the golden time when most students will look for houses? besides, where is the best place to put up some advertisements?

my house is taman seri impian located nearby the police station, i.e. going further down from Jln Broga toward the Chinese Templer and make left-turn when u see the signboard "Taman Seri Impian" b4 the police station.

i know the house is not in ideal location if compared to Taman Tasik Semenyih. however i am willing offer you with lower rental.

really appreciated if someone can enlighten me what are expected from the nottingham students.

I guess information like internet availability, heater, air-con, furniture, i.e. facilities would be helpful to sell your stuff. Been there once, looks new but too far.

Yea..sux. There's this module that I have, it's 2 x 2000 words and 1 x 3000 words = 3 essays for 75% of the marks.

I did pay for the summer months, but at some very low prices. That's the deal we have with the landlord. TTS5 though.

Unless there's a transport (eg shuttle bus) to Nottingham, I would consider Impian really. But that's not the case, is it? Anyway I might check it out when I go room-hunting. PM me with your phone numbers.

actually when i bought the house, the agent promised me many things like guard, shuttle bus, etc but all are missed. and now they are in contact with the Nottingham registrar to make the taman as one of the hostels.

i am tired with this and will leave it to house agent.

I am sure it's not too difficult to hunt down students with cars and are willing to travel from Broga to the Uni. Compared to Sunway Semenyih or Pelangi, Impian is considered nearer already (and avoid the hassles of traffic). What you need is a nicely done publicity and people will start to look at it more seriously.
Perhaps you would want to ask opinions from students living there and ask them to recommend your unit to their friends shall their friends are interested?

Added on April 1, 2011, 1:58 pmThe things I observe here is that, if you are a good landlord, chances are they will renew the contracts with you after a year, or they will introduce their friends to take over their spots if they were graduating. At least, that's what I have observed in TTS.

On top of that I think the most you can do is take photos of your unit on all the facilities available, the more the better. I believe having the photos are more convincing to the students if they really are interested in renting your unit.

It's too far..
Even if u make TTS 2/3/4(Wifi) the hostel,people will complain like hell..
but u can just promote over here,which I think is a good place to promote..
some people will be willing to travel..
just post the photos of ur house and ur expected rental rate..

btw,i agree with tan.
well,i got a bit pissed by my landlord and i dun think i will help him promote his house upon my graduation.

Depends on how nasty the accommodation treat you. Email them or call them to ask.

My bf made a call to Susanna Kuan, the edu fund manager, asking whether he has to declare his parents' income. She pretty much gave him a green light along the course of the conversation, saying that the application was excellent and that he has a very high chance of getting selected. She helped correct a few errors on his application too How kind!

Interview takes place late May/early June. Question prepping is basically research XDDD
