QUOTE(sky@1013 @ Jan 2 2011, 11:51 PM) If I am not mistaken, it's TER/ENTER 85 for Sept intake and they up it until 90 for Jan intake.Chemistry and Physics required. Check the entry requirement for other qualification about the specific subject required. |

I went through the website and I got this as a result Other Qualifications such as UEC, South Australian Matriculation, Canadian Pre-U (OAC) or other equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. |

QUOTE(Envoy @ Jan 8 2011, 01:43 AM) want to ask can a student studying in malaysia campus transfer to uk campus? if yes how and when? for example if i finish foundation can i go uk campus after that? I think, if you get good grades in your Foundation, i.e. minimum 60% average, you will have a strong chance of using your Foundation results to enter Nottingham UK just like any other Intl student (You will have to ask the school for recommended average). The term "transfer" is usually used for students who have at least completed their 1st year in the M'sian campus, then apply for transfer to the UK or China for the rest of their studies commencing on their penultimate or final year. There's another thing called "exchange", whereby, during their penultimate year, students spend either 1 semester or 1 academic year in either the UK or China campus, or both (1 sem + 1 sem), so don't get all these mixed up.This post has been edited by entryman: Jan 8 2011, 04:36 AM |

QUOTE(Envoy @ Jan 8 2011, 05:30 PM) Take note, transfer means you are applying to be a registered full time student at that particular institution, therefore you will be required to pay the international student fees starting from the year that you study there, and not the Malaysian fees. However, if you opt for exchange instead, you will still be paying the normal Malaysian fees with no extra charges other than lodging costs. |

Am I right to assume that the places will be very limited and very competitive for the exchange programme? If so, then is it that only the top students of each course who applied for exchange will get the offer? |

In my department, the quota is not even filled up, ending up whoever wants to get, get to go. |

If so, then is it that only the top students of each course who applied for exchange will get the offer? For the UK, the demand for exchange is high, so you'll need to get better grades to beat the competition.I'd say 65% average would be a somewhat safe figure. Anyway 65% (Second Class Upper in UK terms), is just 5% more than the minimum requirement for you to get good jobs anywhere in the world (just look at job advertisements:"possess a recognised undergraduate degree with at least a second class upper or its equivalent). As for exchange to the China campus, 55% would already be a safe figure, since Malaysians generally have got a weird bias towards China, thus the lower competition, which is great! The more ignorant people are, the better opportunities you get in life, no? Added on January 8, 2011, 10:46 pmBy the way, if you're interested in Engineering, and certain courses in particular, I recommend that you wait for tanjinjack's reply. Straight from the source would be better. This post has been edited by entryman: Jan 8 2011, 10:46 PM |

AFAIK China campus' engineering faculty did not participate in the exchange program, at least between China and Malaysia.
And mechatronic students are not involved in the exchange program whatsoever. Probably coz they do not belong to a certain department definitively? This post has been edited by DJFoo000: Jan 9 2011, 12:18 AM |

Just to chip in if your faculty is small (like Comp Sc) the chances of getting for the exchange program is way higher.
Just sayin' the obvious. Yeah the exchange to China is only for Business faculty. |

I think China engineering faculty only offers 1st year of engineering studies where their students will have to transfer to UK to finish up their studies, and hence no exchange is possible. And mechatronic students are not involved in the exchange program whatsoever. Probably coz they do not belong to a certain department definitively? Mechatronics students do not have exchange programme because the UK campus doesn't offer such course. Some of the modules in the course are also exclusive to Malaysia campus only. And they definitely fall into the EE department. |
