Like most of the others I guess, biggrin.gif 428 in the master bed and 500A in the living,

My original plan was to convert one of the bedroom to an AV room but the space is too small, sweat.gif, so the mosnter is resting in the living room instead.

Bravo! A true blue Pioneer Aficionado. Don't think anyone else in this thread owns two KUROs  cheers.gif

Now let's talk about your AV setup plans for both KUROs  brows.gif

These are the revised settings for the 428XG and Astro B.Yond.

The last time I made a mistake during calibration by enabling Pure Cinema Advance. There is a bug in the 428XG where the Advance reduces luminance.

Please use this from now.

anfielddude,
thanks for the calibration setup, will definately try that later tonight.

Condo living has it's flip side i.e. pets not allowed. Always wanted a dog but it kinda absurd getting Sony AIBO since I don't have any newspaper or slippers for it to fetch  biggrin.gif

Hence, I thought I'll teach this puppy to flip some switches rather than roll over  brows.gif

Retail price is circa RM1K. All the remote codes can be downloaded from Logitech's massive online database. If a particular model is not found, you can manually program it via IR. The best thing about Logitech's software is while you're manually programming your remote, it runs a search in the background to identify a similar remote (and commands) and recommends it even before you complete the manual process. Easily saves you 30 mins. That's sweet!  icon_idea.gif

Depending on your HT setup, it may take some time to configure a complex setup.

This is a pure IF remote. Should you have any AV equipment stored in a covered cabinet, it is best to get the Harmony 900/1100 that has RF capabilities.

Overall, it's a great couch potato light saber bruce.gif. Besides, it really compliments the Pioneer PDPs as it comes in Piano Black.

Built-wise, I miss the KRP-500A remote. The sheer heft and all metal construct feels better in your hand  blush.gif

On the 'Bright' side, this remote has the advantage of big white backlit buttons   thumbup.gif

May i ask where did u buy those sexy harmony remote? Actually i went over to C-Zone the other day and they're not going to bring in more units of em cause hard to sell..

Anyone has any idea why the LX series is so much more expensive than the regular models (AVR & Blu-RRay Players)?  hmm.gif
*
If I'm not mistaken, LX series is the premier product line of Pioneer, thus all the component is better.

Hi guys,

If any of you guys have had your Kuros calibrated by someone or know of a good calibrator, do PM me his / her contact number, I plan to have my TV calibrated ASAP

Many thanks smile.gif

there's someone under your nose all this time.. whistling.gif

by the way, its so frustating that I cant opened up my newly bought kuro sad.gif wifey said that wait until we moved in to our new house than only can unpacked everything there. as of now, my 428xg also sitting behind the sofa as this house is too packed with stuff (my in-laws house tongue.gif).

Anfieldude, I really am going to need your help on how to calibrate my kuro's once I moved in. Hopefully you can spare a time for a peasant like me icon_question.gif . Meanwhile, I'll just keep on learning on calibration.

Hi All,

How much will be the appropriate budget to have a decent HT system.. use for ps3 gaming, HD movie, and astro.. not too high end..
*
Are you looking at Pioneer in particular? its actually hard to recommend to someone without knowing what is their budget 1st.

I think for that kind of budget, its possible to get the entry level avr from Onkyo/Yamaha with HD Audio capable. and a pair of good speaker as well, if you know where to find em.. smile.gif

which version of ps3? i've read that the fat one could output lpcm and the slim one could bitstream. my friend has the slim one and that version confirm could bitstream hd audio to the avr.

sometimes good offer could be found in the garage sales, the music section. and you should also wait look in hifi4sale. sometimes once in a blue moon a good offer surface up. but don't hope too much.
also try to ask at hifi shops if there's used unit that people traded to upgrade.
okay boss, I'll start search around based on your recomendation.. btw my ps3 is slim one..
when electrical shop advertise PIONEER HT system only 1399 let say for example.. what do they give us? speakers only?

For a brand new, you cant get an avr with hd audio but if you're looking the other way, ie. used set, then it's possible. I agree with paskal that you have to get your legs moving by visiting those av shops. Pay attention to the internet forum as well ie lowyat forum or hifi4sale for any amazing deals.
