lol agree! I was taught by Ms Pushpa also, as she kept 'singing the song' of the laws in the class, i got through the exam although didn't really memorize hard lol
*
pushpa is way different now...
as she gets older... her knowledge towards f4 widens! and she juz brags on and on thinking that we are sponges...
thinking that we can juz absorb!
one problem is that f4 is way too easy and she thinks its easy for us first timers
plus she's very textbook orientated which is quite boring...
most of the class juz doze off b4 she even gets to the first break!
i had f4 with pushpa and lydia(doctor)
i would prefer lydia as she takes things slowly and she makes short notes instead of a full textbook full of facts
i think that lydia gives better guidance as her notes and explainations are way simpler in language terms
the fact that pushpa has a huge class (100students) is also kind of big
and as u all know... having big classes... the concentration of the lecturer towards the students lessen

juz my point of view
i personally absorb more info n facts and understand law more in lydia's class compared to pushpa's

Dear amber88,

I'm actually an STPM graduate*, the asterisk is because i failed sad.gif sad to say, went and wasted my 2 years fooling around.. totally my fault!
I understand that ACCA is hyper tough, that's why i made up my mind to do CAT in advance.
I could've chosen TARC diploma cum ACCA, but due to the lack of foundation in accounts, plus not wanting to take the risk of jumping into ACCA so fast, i plan to do CAT 1st, hope i'm making the right choice though smile.gif

Here's my plan, pls give moreeee advice smile.gif
CAT in INTI SJ ==> ACCA in KSA or OIC

And amber88,

I totally agree with the grads in edu fair thing u mentioned, i personally find edu fair a nuisance and waste of resources.
Grads should make up their minds on wat to do by doing research online and asking experienced folks around.
Then only should they call up a tuition provider for the course details, not going to some crowded fair whereby some of them are promoters and the true counselors are dead tired and effing busy that they cant provide you with 100% information and help that you TOTALLY need.

And about scholarshipsssss,

again it's my faulttttt -.-
scored 7a's in spm including a1 in accounts, but now they change the scholarship system for the new spm marking system, making my results of a1 a2 useless in scholarship application of inti's..
and i don't think i'm still exempted for that paper *cries in agony

my beloved experienced and working forumers out there..
Is there by any chance some bank loans or company loans i can try out??? Thank you so so so so sooooo much
20k++ might be a fraction of degree courses, but still, it's not exactly a small amount as well ):
*
some colleges give rebates etc etc
in 2007 sunway kuching or FTMS kuching (i knot really remember tat time)
gave around RM500 per a1 u get in SPM as rebates for your CAT.

if u happen to not get and rebates or scholarships...
study hard and aim a msian prize hahaha you'll get 50% rebates for everything u need to pay.

and u shud be exempted for t1(cat paper) if u get A1 for accounting. but im not too sure if anything changed

i cant find my exemption letter T.T lost it i guess..
May i know more about the malaysian prize of which you mentioned? smile.gif
*
exemption letter no need to worry... u can always ask your tuition provider to print or do another letter if im not wrong.

owh as for malaysia prize holders...
are got special achievements
eg people getting 99% in exams are usually malaysian prize holders and would have their tuition fees boared and exam frees waived by ACCA themselves.
which means free for u.
if u do get 100% for international papers you'll get 100% free if im not wrong.
u can always read more about it in the main website.

I would like to ask a question , after completing ACCA and working for 3 years (and becoming a chartered accountant)

What are the job prospects? Working life would definitely be better than working at BIG4 am i right?

I heard alot about the harsh working life at BIG4 from my sister who is a degree holder for accounts and finance.

I'm currently a student enrolled for CAT > ACCA march intake, orientation starts next monday =)
*
of course it will be better...
everything starts off bad and it gets a lil better....
as time passes... eventhou the working style and load is still the same...
u might already got used to it till u feel that your working life is slightly better hahaha

once u fulfill your ACCA working requirement of 3years... life is supposingly better!

salary higher... not better meH? biggrin.gif

Let me correct you on that.

Waivers of tuition fees and exam fees are given by the college, as they can use you for their marketing. The most you will get from ACCA is a prize money somewhere between 50-100 pounds, and it's only given for world prizewinners.

For Malaysian prizewinners, sadly you don't get prizemoney from ACCA (not sure about the bronze/silver/gold medallists though).
However, most colleges I know will award you some form of waiver/scholarship/rebate. Sunway for instance gives a 50% waiver of tuition fes and exam fees for Malaysian prize.

-

In order to be a world / malaysian prize, you need to score highest in the world for world prize, highest in malaysia for malaysian prize. Not necessarily a score of 100, since some papers only need about 85 to get highest in the world (which shud give u a good idea how hard the paper is tongue.gif)

Even then, F lvl papers still generally hover between 90-99 marks for world prize
P level tends to be in the areas of 85-99 (with some anomaly such as AFM where prizewinners are in 80s)

Good luck aspiring to be a prizewinner biggrin.gif

bronze silver and gold medallist im sure got full waiver.
my fren got silver she is waived from everything and refunded her money if im not mistaken.
will confirm about the refunds.

owh! sorry i've gotten the fact a lil wrong.
hahah but the infos are completely true for Sunway thou:P
bare in mind Sunway is one of the most expensive provider too
