Ok, we have heard many times that all new speakers need time to run in in order to unleash its full potential.

What about new set of AV Receiver, does it need to run-in a certain period to realize its best performance? Some have even said that cables or even power cords need to burn-in to achieve its best result but do electronic parts work in the same principle? Will we able to tell the Receiver improved performance after certain period of run-in?

Some say yes, some say no. I am not a picky guy and not really particular on this.
Skydragon sounds nice and consistent from the first day it was being used.
XPA sounds warmer over times.

for me if i buy new stuff i'll recalibrate all my system after 1 or 2 month used...

but for the cable...Audioquest come with DBS (used battery 48V and 72V to warm up cable) to improve cable magnetic field..
http://www.audioquest.com/pdfs/dbs_anaology_field.pdf

In my experience, AV receiver will only sound good after one hour run-in time every time it switched on. They sound very lazy after sleeping too long.

That's very true with the one using vacuum tube. Solid state class AB or D usually don't need that. Not sure about old school class A smile.gif

But I believe most of the stereo amps for cd listening always tempt to sound more refined once they get warm up.
