my nihon-go is level 10 lol (the very basic) im starting to learn from book i got, and ill also learn from my wife..
hopefully i can reach proficient nihon-go within 2 years time. really really appreciate your info. i will pm PsyCHZZZ and tatsuyachiba about this. my current bank im working in has no branch in japan

so yea i should keep my priority to international bank. maybe i should try apply int bank here in malaysia first, get in and request for transfer with family reason as an excuse. do u think it work?

anyone successfully done this before???
lol, in this case, then you need to find companies that uses english as their main language. As it is going to be pretty tough to get JLPT Level 2 in 2 years. From your previous post, I sense the urgency to move to Japan like within 6 months or something, which means getting transferred within that short duration of time is sort of impossible. But if you are looking at a longer timeline, then it does sounds possible. Although, I would rather apply directly to the Japan branches instead of hoping for something uncertain like a transfer request to be approved.
*Btw, for your information - PsyCHZZZ does not work in a banking industry, and I'm not sure about tatsuyachiba, but both of them are very helpful and friendly. Worth to try to ask them.

I've heard some banks transfer their execs to Japan. Yet, like Heterosapiens have said, it's very tough and competitive to get employed in Japan; high unemployment rate among Japanese natives and why should they even consider hire a 'gaikokujin'?
There is one big reason why they would prefer to hire non-japanese as their staff - their company needs staff who can speak in other languages besides nihongo, especially english. For example, some IT company servicing international clients. The point is that, the language matters a LOT in hiring foreign manpower for japanese companies.
