successfully updated both fones with new firmware, using Ovi Suite on UniFI connection, done under 10mins..

after extensive "stress" testing of Garmin XT with the new firmware, i can report that it hasn't crashed or hung..neat..

here's how u sort out the issue with GMXT asking to launch when u insert ur card or when u unplug ur USB cable frm the fone :

delete the following file >>
(mem. card)\Private\10202dce\GarminMobileXT_PA.sis

**u may have to enable ur Hidden Folder option on ur PC**

how strange..i got that problem earlier on, but after deleting GarminMobileXT_PA.sis, the problem went away almost immediately..need to research more on this then..

ooOOo..i knew there was a work around..it's the cardrunner file issue..thanks for pointing out..

hold down the UP arrow key + alphabet to make it uppercase, but if ur thinking of special characters for each letter, i haven't quite figured that one out just yet..

i think what he meant is that marking the messages individually via a shortcut key (like the pencil key), and not thru the menu options.

or better still try OviSuite instead..make sure u Uninstall both PcSuite and NSU frm ur PC first..don't want leftover drivers intact..

on a side note, who knows what is the server profile for OTA updates?does maxis have one?thanks!!

is there anyway to disable/remove that annoying small digital clock at the bottom?

this phone even after FW upgrade(and hard reset), still eats up about 90mb of RAM, so any clues what this huge chunk of memory is used for?memory leak?

i just bought a pair of E72s Metal Grey and Topaz Brown a couple of days back, might be out of stock for that particular seller..

maybe because the application shortcut are apps you installed on the mem.card(that happens to me cause i had Garmin as one of the shortcuts and it reverted to it's default application when i selected Mass Memory), BTW did you select Mass Memory or PC Suite?

i think that is spot-on, cause if the shortcut are apps installed on the phone memory, then it would not revert back to the default app when you select Storage after connecting the USB cable.

im really impresed by the longevity of it's battery, it's been slightly more than 2 days since i've last charged it and i still have like 3 bars on it..gonna fully charge it by tonite, change it to power save mode and see how long it's gonna last (5 days i hope)..

yup no issues so far, "stressed tested" it by forcing it to do multiple re-calculations and it did not fail on me..

i've checked around, GMXT 5.00.50 is the most stable release currently..u guys might wanna use that..

i still feel that GMAIL is very buggy..even when i attemtp to sync up or connect there are times it just won't do it..either via 3G connection or WIFI, and by the way the initial setup requires ur GPRS connection first..
