Hi all, how do I overclock my CPU a little more? I currently overclocked my Core 2 Duo E4500 from stock speed 2.2GHz to 2.53Ghz(230*11)(FSB*Multiplier) I can't set the FSB to 266, if I set it to 266 and save into bios then restart, the PC won't boot, no beep sound and no screen on the monitor. Is my chipset's limitation? my mainboard is Refer Here. And How do I increase the voltage?

Here are my spec:
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.20Ghz (Overclocked to 2.53Ghz [230*11]) (Stock HSF from Intel)
Kingston Value RAM 1x2GB DDR2 667Mhz (Overclocked to 766Ghz due to adjusting the FSB)
MSI 945GCM5-F V2 (Support FSB 1333 CPU)
Asus Geforce 9600GT (Power Saving Edition)
WD 160GB 8MB/7200RPM/SATAII
SoundBlaster 5.1VX
Acbel E2 Power 510w (510w Max power, 450w continuous power)

Any tips for me to overclock my CPU more?

i think u need a better cooling fan for u processor if u want to overclock.

so now ur comp cannot boot?

Can, I can always reset the Jumper on my board if I overclocked too much and cannot be started..

But how do I raise the Vcore voltage? My BIOS doesn't seems to offer me to adjust... It only offer me to adjust the RAM and PCI-E voltage.
And I go into PC health status in bios, there show my Vcore voltage is at 1.336v

By the way, thanks for the informations.
Here are my BIOS information(In the Frequency/Voltage Section) that I have written down:

Current CPU Frequency 2.75GHz(250x11)
Current DRAM Frequency 833MHz
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intel EIST [Enabled] << If I disable this, I won't be able to boot at FSB 250 but for FSB 230.
Adjust CPU FSB Frequency [250]
Adjusted CPU Frequency 2750
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FSB/Memory Ratio [Auto]
Adjusted DRR Memory Frequency 833
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adjust PCI Frequency [33.33]
Adjust PCI-E Frequency [115]
Auto disable DIMM/PCI Frequency [Enabled]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Memory voltage [2.10] <This one is in Yellow Color (High Performance Setting)
PCI Express voltage [1.60] <By default, this is in 1.55, but I adjusted to 1.60, is it ok?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spread Spectrum [Enabled]

Are you meanings that my system is unstable? My DDR memory frequency cannot goes higher than default(667)?

Have you got it to boot at this frequency?  hmm.gif

This one is possibly heat issue or not enough Vcore. Look for any "C1E" settings in on of the BIOS setup pages, and disable that. wink.gif

Try changing the "FSB/Memory Ratio" from Auto to manual setting to reduce memory frequency. nod.gif

Try lowering the RAM frequency first, then you don't need to increase the memory voltage that much. smile.gif

Looks OK, but test and see at default 1.55V first.  biggrin.gif

You may want to disable this if stability problem arises.  tongue.gif

As I've mentioned before, try to maintain the RAM frequency close to factory defaults (or lower frequency) first. icon_rolleyes.gif

Okay, now I manually adjusted the FSB/Ratio of the RAM and I got 667MHz of the memory frequency now. Should I keep 667MHz or back to 8xxMhz?

agreed 100%

pcie freq must not leave to auto when OC..
if u stil love ur pricey GC icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif

yeah.. i oso have bad exp wif OC using low end mobo..
sometime can boot ..sometime cannot.. even when adjust 2-3 mhz..
dunnoe why.

Yeah, just add 1 more to the FSB only, save to BIOS then cannot boot... Need to remove the casing and touch the cmos jumper....

wat happen if u do 250*10, ram multiplier x2.5?
*
mine is 250*11(the cpu multiplier is locked, it don't offer me to change), RAM multiplier it only offer me Auto, 1:1.33, 1:1.66. Currently I using 1:1.33 and the RAM frequency is at 667MHz.

i'm afraid u might edi hit the OC limitation for ur board....
if u really looking to get the most of of ur processor, get p35/45 board....

the problem i see here.....
most of the option r locked o not available @ bios.
in order to push clock, u hav 2 push fsb, which result in pushing ram clock also bcoz all these r linked....
ur processor & nb hasn't hit the wall, but ur ram might edi hit the wall, cant go further, causing the oc to fail.

another thing u can try, slap in higher frequency ram, like DDR800....
see if u can push it higher.

I can set the RAM FSB/Ratio to 1:1.33 to get it run at 833MHz, but is it stable?
