I want to use Live-CD Linux for some of my online activities. Apart from browsing and some simple word and spreadsheet work, everything else does not really matter.

I have burned copies of Knoppix and Slax. Help on any of these OS's to setup a Streamyx connection is appreciated.

I don't know if this really suit for knoppix or slack (i used suse), when you install the os, it will auto configure the hardware connected to your computer at the moment, which mean it will detect your dsl and configure it automatically. When you log into the box, you could just surf the internet, if you have router mode enabled.

or you can configure your dsl manually when you have logged on. (i guess this one, you can read at your os's help center.) wink.gif

Knopppix automatic configure the network card when the router has the DHCP service enable. Just click on the web browser to surf ...

Otherwise, NO DHCP enable on the router, then you need the IP address, netmask, gateway IP address (usually the router's IP address) and ISP DNS server ip address. The method of manul network configuration is descriped in the link below. Download the PDF file and view page 56

Knoppix User' Guide (Page 56 Network Setup)
