bought mine from Rozel. Bad experience. Bought an expensive coffee table but they sent a showroom set. The top is leather and with crimple so I ask for exchange, 2nd one they send after I signed, Iaccidently read the remarks at the back of the delivery note that says the first set was from one of the showroom and the 2nd set was from another showroom. Was furious that they insist it is brand new even though the 4 wheel are dirty and looked it has been push around for some time already. Some crooked businessman but showroom look so nice

If u have the budget and don't have much idea on how to differentiate between leather quality, I think Lorenzo is a good pick despite its price. Other places may sell leather sofas at Rm1k-RM1.5k less but it may not last as long as Lorenzo. Just my humble opinion.

wah.. lorenzo..cellini.. all brand from singapore, right?
from my point of view, its slightly overprice...
with the same quality but slightly cheaper, you can try local brand like MAVIS or ADORA or MIVA....which gives lifetime warranty for woodwork and 5 years warranty on cushion and fabric...
try the big Master Furniture in Puchong near Tesco...
they carry quite a few local and imported brand.. do look around and compare for urself...

well IMHO the brands from singapore esp. cellini have a little more design finesse compared to local ones. so you pay for what you get.

I bought a sofa set from Macy. Unfortunately you can say I'm disappointed with the quality. The 'mattress' already deform within 1 year of usage even though they provide 5 years warranty. Expect better quality from them. So if you are a couch potato, do consider this.

Thanks to all the forumer for all the advice and comment.
And the list of sofa company is listed in post #1.

Recently there has been a lot of promotion on the sofa... Is it really not recommended to get a leather sofa for a non-aircon living room?

I got a very bad experience with Lorenzo. I bought a cabinet display and when they deliver to my house found the light is no on, and need to wait for their technician to come and fix. New unit but light malfunction.
They promise will come back to me but end up i have to call them to follow up after few days, they told me due to their manager is oversea and they unable to arrange anything until the manager come back. -LORENZO only have a manager?????
Finally the technician come over on weekday but not weekend after another week. i have take 1 day leave since its normal working day. They promise come on morning but show face after lunch. 2 guys come for 3 hours but still cant fix the problem.
And i have to call back to his office to inform them the technician couldn't repair and they will rearrange another so call more technical team.
After 1 week, they are no one call me and i have to call them, and the answer is they arranging ppl coming to my house this evening, shit no proper arrangement from LORENZO, since i'm in outstation then they will call me again to reschedule the appointment.
I totally disappointed to LORENZO, and i promise will not buy a single thing from them
1) No after sales service
2) No professional team
3) No Quality

Try lying on a leather sofa without air cond and you will know.
Most leather sofa is displayed in an air condition showroom so That make u feel 'comfortable' which is too icy for me. Just provide a 2 cents.

Don't buy rozel .. Their service is really terrible. Have had bad experience with them. During sales process was all good until you complete payment. After that all helll break loose. From the logistic guy who arrange delivery schedule to the attitude of the lorry drivers. Not to mention the very very late delivery. The quality and reliability is also questionable with much defects. Calls to rectify and rework is another long story. Bought lorenzo before as well with much better experience..

Went to Lorenzo
Saw this sofa for RM 4580.

The staff told me full leather. I asked again and she comfirms Full Leather.

But went home and saw the same furniture design on their advertisement in The Star Paper saying Top Leather.

Verbal say full leather but advertisement say Top leather.

Seriously cannot trust Sales people fully

Guess they meant to say top grain leather. Not a bad buy with that price tag of it is using full top grain leather. top grain leather has the strongest fibre removed though.

Hi All

My most worst experience in purchasing a piece of furniture is at Macy. Please do not go there. I brought a dinning table there which is on display. When we inspect it, it was all good and we were really happy. However, as times goes by, we went back once in a while to check it because we have not ask them to delivery it because our home was still under renovation at that time. As I was saying as time goes by, slowly, there were round marks showing on the glass top and we believed its because they lift it up to move the table around (a very big and heavy glass table). Just before delivery, we realized that it has become from bad to worst but because we really loved the table so much and we renovate our dinning area to match this table, we told them specifically not to put any more pressure on the legs of the dinning table because it will sort of make the marks worst. Cut the whole story short, when it was delivered to our place, the marks are now a full filled circle instead of thin not that noticeable dots circle. When I complaint to them saying that when we first purchase it, it was not like this even up to a couple of weeks before delivery. Conclusion, they are now telling me "Too bad, you purchase a display item with no evidence of no markings when you first purchased it and here a RM50 to compensate you (which after arguing increase to RM150).

What is even worst...when I say to them RM50?? I can't even purchase a table runner with it (most of them are all RM200 and above) and to my surprise...one of the customer service on the phone told me that they have a lot with less than RM50 on her file. So what does it mean?? All Macy stores keep the cheap one somewhere and sell only the expensive ones or she is seeing the cost price of the runner??

So with evidence, they will keep quiet and just pay me back / compensate with higher compensation??

So a piece of advice, please if anywhere that you are purchasing a display item, make sure you
1. Take pictures of it as most of the time they will just tell you "bad luck you want to buy cheap things" (I did not purchase a cheap item, I still paid a few thousand (RM2k or was it RM3K) for the dinning table where the original price was about RM3700+)
2. Don't believe what they tell you - we will take care for you and will pack away very quickly / we will wrap it up for you so no one will sit on it / lay hands on it / we will make sure we will polish for you...etc
3. Don't leave the store till you see them wrap it up / go back and check have they wrap it up - if not yet, make sure you make a fuss about it and make them write a remark that they are not handling it with care on your item - you PAID in FULL so basically its your item at their premisses. They have to look after it still.

4. Before paying, make sure that all defects are put down in remarks. They love to chop in red that all display sets are as is and no warranty. BUT what will happen if its the staff's fault after you walk out of the store thinking that you have got a great item. Without that remarks, they will tell you that its your fault and blame it back on you instead.

So sorry about the long complaint and that its not on sofa. I have totally lost all confidence in Macy and I will not want to purchase anything from them again. And also I do not want anyone to get rip off by them as well. Already service sucks in their stores and furniture are not designers but expensive

Even with the cheap compensation that they have given me RM150, I don't even know what to buy with that price. I will not top up a single cent because they don't deserve it. Really, buying something should be a happy moment especially for your new home but now its a nightmare. I am glad that I have not purchase the bed and sofa with them and have cancel the 2 seater sofa which going to charge me for RM2500 for it. If I have purchase it then, I think I will be hitting myself against the wall now.

Be the nice and understanding customer, then get push around. Be that a little mean, fussy and unreasonable customer may get you the best during and after sales customer service.

PS: I am still fighting on the dinning table, at least till they replace the glass..RM150 please la...a real insult after I have hack down a wall just to make enough room for this dinning table.

I heard from the salesman the reason why u won't feel hot even if u sit for a long period of time is that they are using goose feathers especially for those premium quality sofa~ My mum & I tested the sofa b4 at the showroom & it's true..considering the aircon at that time is not really cool

If u like those designs from Cellini, Can customize the Sofa using high resilient (HR) foam with covered ACASIA fabric + Polyester Cushions, with modern design at many factories in Sg Buloh, cost is around 5 - 6k for 9 x 9 feet. Considered cheap if compare with retail shops.

Haha bro, as I remember your residential is still under construction, so fast wanna survey Sofa already? Yeah Cellini is the modern designs which I usually like, their show rooms at MV / The Garden is usually expensive and costs around 8 - 12k for a decent one. The one I engaged (3 years back) served as distributor to Cellini, his factory is in Sg Buloh, 40% focus in domestic market and 60% exporting it outside of Malaysia - specialized in ACASIA fabrics. Knowing the young boss, he did gave me excellent services at reasonable price + some freebies, and came to my house to advise and customize in fitting it with TV console. I do think the foams is quite important, as it defines how long a sofa will lasts. It ranged from Normal foam (1-2 years) --> High Density (3-6 years) --> High Resilient (7-10 years). If I remember correctly, it is given 10 years warranty for the HR foam. After few years for now, god bless it has no issue. Specially attach the real pic for your reference bro, it is 9 ft x 9 ft. smile.gif

Bro...nice pic!always thanks for ur patience explain...haha...you r right...one will VP 1 1/2 year and the other 3 year later...As this will be my first experience so better to prepare earlier and survey around the work after key collection. May pm you for the Sungai Buloh factory later. 😄
Out of topic abit, normally after key collection, not necessary to look contractor for reno? as my unit will be just for rental, how about those light and fan fit, can settle ourself? My unit will come with air con and kitchen cabinet. 😂

No prob bro - wow you will be quite busy for the next 3 years then. it will be a memorable experience though if u catch chance to hands on with it. Since u r planning to rent it out, no need to engage those ID designers but try to add value / design everything by yourself as start. Engage the contractors separately, by purpose, and that would save u a lot. To satisfy the demand of rental market, today basic reno can be done with fully furnished at below 15k if you control the budget well. Have seen ppl who install the lights and fans by themselves, IMO this is good exercise but may not cost effective as we can get the electrical guy to install perfectly for us @ Rm 10 per light point, RM 15 per fan, and RM 60 per loop. I do however recommend to have basic reno to increase the value and proposition to rent. Plaster ceiling @ <2k is already sufficient to cover < 1000 sq ft unit and if can, invest @ 1k for Wallpapers. Good down lights (from Korea) is @ RM 45 each, use 4' inches (but higher lumen) and it will look more elegant. Have more strategies when your unit is ready, u may ping me at that time, will share how all these can be done at cheap costs but looks presentable. Good that your unit already has AC (check if dev giving inverter piping which is thicker) and kitchen cabinet (just hope they don't cut costs by giving the solid surface). smile.gif

Hence it is important to get the buy-off from the bosses who maintain the reputation of the shop. Things r going digital and common in social media nowadays.
We can at least mitigate by witness the quality & testing the comfort by ourselves, price would usually more expensive than last time, after GST was imposed. Hehe say 3 seater is 4.2k then for 2 times length will be around 8.4k, and this is highly likely just HD foams. Nothing comes cheap it seems. tongue.gif

All your questions can be concluded as good to have, and already budgeted under RM 15k. A unit with basic reno (than bare unit) able to fetch higher rental amounts. KL tenants are smart & choosy nowadays, they know how to choose for stay by comparing price versus what were furnished. Last time, without reno (just basic furniture) i rent out for RM 1100, after 2 years i put in 2k to do plaster ceiling with cheap T5 lighting washing the sideways of the walls. And invest RM 750 to put up wallpapers for 3 rooms, and Rm 1,500 for customized wardrobe / room. Now it can rent out easily with RM 500 per room and RM 600 for master room, which increased the returns from RM 1100 to RM 1600. Then i replicate the same settings to other units, consistently. Yeah for my case I bought everything and put in the store room and just pay labor fees for installation activities, hence the bills is usually transparent and can be itemized. smile.gif

Thanks again...Bro... whole pic had been clearer now. This can be the study case...haha...just pay slightly more with better rental income...but in order to minimize the cost, engage separately contractor is a must or is it common that a single general contractor are service for wall paper/plaster ceiling/lighting installation too in the market?...I think I will PM you for the contractor contact perhaps nearly VP...thanks in advance...I really must buy you some meal and drink...let me know when you came over!!!👍😄

From the full list, i will only choose Harvey Norman if im going for imported leather sofa. First, i like up-to-date and minimalist design. Harvey Norman usually have only few sets, good quality and their design ever changing. If you have more budget, may i suggest you check out SPACE at The Intermark. If you are looking at a more affordable range, i suggest Ikea or Maju Home. Sorry to say i never like furnitures from Lorenzo, Cellini or most of those suggested. The designs looked old fashioned to me, and they are always the same all year round and year to year - the only thing is you choose your fabric / leather. If you prefer a more classical or orthodox types, you may try Brunomenzi (sister company of Cellini, though im not sure if it still around)

Dont underestimate Ikea and Maju Home, they have got pretty good quality furnitures, functional and the designs are pretty. Hope this helps !

Specially attach the real pic for your reference bro, it is 9 ft x 9 ft.  smile.gif
