Wao never knew watemelon powder can use for ulcer.... al this time i use salt... pain like hell

watermelon frost is a chinese medicine. You won't know if you are not chinese or doesn't go to chinese pharmacy.

It does sooth the pain a little but need constant application.

Anyway, salt is most effective but pain like hell. After 2 days of applying salt, my tongue got better now. Maybe apply for 1 more today to be sure. sad.gif

Ulcers are common and i am sure everyone get them once a while.

Even though it is something common but it is agonizing especially when it happens in the tongue.

Long long time ago I bit my tongue. Since then ulcers come and go whenever i ate too much heaty food. It only happens like twice a year but it still is very very very very painful. I can't even speak properly because it is very very very painful. I especially hate it because it cannot be cured anymore. It will just come and go as it please. Like that part of my tongue is it's holiday villa.

Anyway, what are the common solution for ulcers that you use?

Those that I know includes:

- leave it for a week and it will die off (but painful)
- bonjela (pain and useless)
- topical steroid cream, Kenalog (protect against pain but only last 30 min or less)
- watermelon dust (no use)
- salt (super duper painful but most effective)

I usually leave it to die off except when it is very very very painful. I will apply salt. It is so painful when rubbing salt on it until that ulcer region will be numb. I also did tried squeezing on the ulcer and blood will come out of it. However, this will make the ulcer grow even bigger. Ouch.

What are your methods for curing this very very very painful mo-fu*****?

Ouch...my tongue.

this is so wrong. once it bleed means there is open wound and it's easily infected by bacteria. that's why it grows bigger!

Eat laksa..

Let "poison" kill "poison".

It works sometimes...

Bonjela pretty useless... haha...Using it now... 2 days already..small ulcer also cannot cure.

Try to get more sleep hours... Perhaps not enough sleeping too.

Salt is a killer...but it doesn't work all the time.

Got rough salt & salt powder.

salt is the best way to deal with ulcer. It's painful. There's no need to rub. Just put a pinch on that area. Salt can be use for sore throat. Very effective. Just put some in water and gargle.

i can say tat i'm one of those who have ulcers pretty frequently and it's pretty frustrating tat i constantly have to deal with the pain and irritation especially when i eat. 10 times in a year is not uncommon.
i have met one doctor and he has recommended me to take a medicine called nature's biotics and he says tat it is to help to provide my liver with good bacteria (dun ask me y!) and from there it helps prevent any ulcer growth. from there i constantly take and guess what, the ulcer is history.
i seldom have ulcer nowadays...

forget about bonjela, salt etc etc.

Get a small bottle of Tea Tree Oil from the pharmacy. Put 1-2 drops in a cup and add in some lukewarm water. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with the solution before you go to sleep. No more pain the next day..

If you have any doubts, you can check the instructions that comes in the package. It is recommended for ulcers and it's stated there.

I prefer Solcosedyl dental paste or Orrepaste. They are equally good.

neem leaf can be dried under the sun and ground to powder form, next close it with plastic capsule which can be bought in medicine shop. when you feel body heaty take 2 capsule. Take it only when nessesary.

i have frequent mouth and tongue ulces since teenage and until now it is still an issue for me...

Normally i will use Oral Aids..it helps numb the wound but the effectiveness is not so high as when u swallow saliva it will just reduce the numbness...

Another method is traditional way, my mum will boil some kind of water with the dried mandarin orange / one type of guava skin (really dark color type) and you use the water to rinse...it really numb the wound and the ulcer can be cure way faster than usual.....

oh.. i'm having the same condition as you were.. -.-.. sometimes more than 3 or 4 ulcers in the mouth blink.gif
sometimes when i'm lazy-.-, i'll just let it be, but drink more water and it eventually heals (around 3 days for small ulcer.. more than a week for serious one-.-)..
however, sometimes when i couldn't stand the irritation, i apply salt on that area.. just as what has been mentioned above, a pinch and a tap on the ulcer, NOT rub/scrub/whatever vigorous motion as it's so not an applicable method... and guess what, salt makes wonder yo..

so, think again.. to be lazy or not to be? laugh.gif

about sore throat, IMO gargling with salt water is the best and fastest way..
