I had seen many of you guys out there saying that the service interval is 5k and 10k... the booklet says 10k and the bill says 5k... have anyone just don't care what is written on the bill and go for 10k service and yet can get warranty? Pls share with us if whom ever have experience on this.
*
Just follow the booklet. it says 10k service interval, so i follow it to ensure my warranty is intact. However, for the 5k between the 10k service, i go for simple service outside.

1k, 5k, 10k -> all in Proton SC
15k -> outside service
20k -> Proton SC
25k -> outside service
30k -> Proton SC
and so on...

This way, they won't know and they can't say I didn't follow the schedule and void my warranty.

well..the booklet stated 10k is fully-sync that proton recommended to use but as for the receipt it depends on what engine oil you change most of you guys are using semi-sync so, i believe the receipt will automatically print out 5k service interval, but fully-sync the system will print out 10k interval...
just my wild guess....i might be wrong..no offence... icon_rolleyes.gif

you are wrong.
it is stated in the car booklet to use semi syn and the viscosity (forgot how to spell) is stated as well. I asked this with the SC before and they do say service every 10k and the car is not suitable using full syn oil.
in fact, even my friend's new vios service every 10K km although using semi syn only.

so to be on the safe side, i still go for simple service for the 5K between the 10K km service

Hello guys..wanna ask one thing regarding persona car

Last week I send my sister persona to service.I complain to them regarding when the aircond compressor turn on the sound from engine bay is quite noisy.

After when check by the SC, they say that Belt Tensioner Bearing need to be replace...and total damage including installation near to RM 500 d.

My question is..should this thing covered in warranty as the persona haven't reach 3 years or 50000KM yet...even its reach..It still have EWP.I think I kena rip off d

no more liaw. i replaced new front disc brake under warranty. all good now. coupled with much better brake pads.

All Persona owners should change their brake pads. It really makes a hell lots of difference. It is the first and cheapest upgrade any of you here should do since original brake pad the feel is soft and un-assuring.

The pads i am on is called Trestor Advantage (blue pads) cost RM68. Highly recommended to try. I have very good experience with this pads on my ex myvi with modded honda civic vtec disc brakes.

bro, 68 buck each or per set?? huhu. where you change? at SC ka?
how's the dust for your new brake pad? no more dust ka? really hate the dust la. every time need to wipe clean my rim doh.gif

it did not state whether its fully sync or semi sync oil use for each service but if u look at the service booklet, the next service after the 10k is 20k. so it is assume the SC use fully sync oil.

i think this is what loong2020 trying to tell

Like that cannot assume lo. It's black and white already. That means nothing concrete. So following the 10k service interval is legally correct in this case lo...

I hv been using this oil since my 1st service. It is called Shell Helix HX7 Semi synthetic. It's pretty good oil and common...it's from Shell of course it is. But many SC do not carry such oils as usually they will recommend you to use Petronas oils which is heavier. The authorized service agents for Protons does carry this helix oil though.

Just make sure that they DO NOT OVERFILL your engine oil which they really love to do so and swear by it that "Campro engines need full 4 litres of oil" bullshit. It does not...and it's a cold hard fact.

the sales office is in old klang road. actually it alll depends on your nego with your SA. i went to many sales office and ask for the best offer... so far this SA give me the most offer. and one thing, don't go to those proton edar sales office, normally they can't give much offer... try those proton "wakil jualan", those SA will give more and you can bargain with them...

Thanks for sharing the information. Ya i will definitely tell them not to overfill. hmm.gif if they were to listen to us and supposely take back some 100-200 ml balance..

Currently FC clocking 6.9, town driving and ramping below 3k rpm on the initial Engine oil from factory (unidentified)... hope can do better than that, not yet do country drive. I think FC will show better result... biggrin.gif
