I do think actually this is caused by proton poor ecu setting which made the gas pedal has a lag of 0.5 - 1 seconds.
Well, as starter, maybe u can change the way u change the gear. Instead of pressing the clutch and releasing the gas pedal at the same time, why dont u try release the gas pedal for 1 - 2 seconds, then engage the clutch.

heck, our persona automatic also like this. try press the gas pedal and let go immediately... there is a lag whereby the gas lets go before the rpm goes down....
