last weekend i was in persiaran hicom service center for my brother's waja cps. then i saw the new persona. complete. the new facelift really looks good. they allow me to check it out but no photos allowed. sad.gif sigh...it was closing time so they allowed me to look at it...interior looks good. the body now seems more solid and better looking. the player has USB.

leather interior. the one they had was high line. but not sure if CPS is being used. they just got the car on that saturday.

now this is nice. smile.gif

Well, if not mistaken, for manual should cost almost rm400 and auto almost rm500 (due to ATF). As for me, i got a little workmanship fee discount coz i'm their (the sc) member and at that time i got a free oil filter due to sc membership also (free for each 2 services). So mine was around rm340.

Somehow the sc recommend me to do this (which i refused):
1) change fuel filter
2) re-tune the ecu

@fonda: i did mine at bukit serdang sc. After the 20k service, nothing much improvement i guess, just the same.

Anyway, just make sure to save some money around rm600 - 800 for 40k service and rm1,000++ for 80k service  whistling.gif

bad news..bad news...i found out that Persona is too risky to be lowered. The gearbox is already low from the ground. If it lowered e more, damaged may cause to the GB if it hit something except you always use a super smooth roads which are rare in Malaysia.

its not all that low if compared to 1st gen of gen2 models whereby the automatic gearbox oil sump is at its lowest.

comon... i hv been driving a lowered myvi (sold off) on stock 14 inch wheels for 1 year plus and on 16 inch wheels for another 2 years plus... the engine oil sump and automatic gearbox oil sump is also lower to the ground... just drive sensibly lorr....

so persona's engine and tranny oil sump i see is ok la... not all that alarming if lowered.

The no.1 thing to "mod" is to replace the stock pads. It really make quite a lot of difference. Im using Trestor Advantage (Blue) really thumbup.gif

i'm not sure what for, but they want to charge me around rm60. Yes the ecu can be re-tune. They will plug their laptop to the ecu and do their magic whistling.gif

if my memory serves me right, especially the 80k where i saw they got mentioned changing what-tensioner, mounting, etc... Since my 25k service is coming right up, i'll try to take a snapshot of their Proton ProCare's schedule.

Do you guys realize that the gen2 absorber coil spring seat is about half an inch lower than Persona's absorber???

Meaning, if install gen2's absorber into Persona.... the Persona will be slightly lowered.

i dont and i dunno about the rest though. but one word of advice....

please those use those stuffs. it promotes faster wear to the current good condition of the coil springs. basically it fits in between the coils forcing it to be "dead" and therefore forcing the other coils to stiffen up due to the nature and therefore, provides a stiffer ride. this gives the feeling of performance suspension at the expense of the stock coil. it does give a better ground control etc etc.... but well.. u get the picture.

if u want, change to low springs or adjustables la...

Call Shamsul Auto Supply in KL (Tel:603-6277 9082/6277 6002) to find out their dealers in Kuantan i.e. if they have any there. Actually, there is nothing much you can see besides the Pull/Release handle & the Push/Release Switch button - once it is installed. The bulk of the mechanism is mounted on the steering column & very much hidden. Remember, the real thing is the one with the LOCKTECH logo underlined & conspicuously made in Thailand. Just google for the image. Even the fakes are shown - With out underlined logo.

This is the original Thai Locktech site : http://www.moderntechniclock.com/locktech-toyota.html
