bad news..bad news...i found out that Persona is too risky to be lowered. The gearbox is already low from the ground. If it lowered e more, damaged may cause to the GB if it hit something except you always use a super smooth roads which are rare in Malaysia.

QUOTE(Hypro @ Mar 23 2010, 11:56 AM) I am not sure about this, but last time I heart from sc that if using full synthetic oil is 10K, others is 5K, if u r not using full synth oil, it might void the warranty. Recently I went to 227 sc and I have ask the mechanic about the different between full synth , semi synth and normal mineral oil. He told me that actually full synth is for those country that have 4 season like winter. Because if their car parking outside, when they wake up at the morning, the snow might cover up their car, and that's why their need full synth oil for their engine for easy start their car and ,sometime the temperature will down to minus degree and the oil will freeze and if using mineral oil might hard to start the car. So for our country, it is not recommend to use full synth oil, I am not sure is this true or not. Anyone sifu here can rectify this? The most important thing when choosing an engine oil is using the correct rating. It doesn't matter whether it is a mineral, semi or fully.Just fully sync oil resistance is higher to oxidation, thermal breakdown and oil sludge problems. That's why the interval changes when using fully syn are up to 10,000 KM or higher.

QUOTE(jasondotcom @ Apr 14 2010, 11:45 AM) Yea if wanna maintain more less stock internals etc.... light pressure turbo will be alright. and ermm.... cost factor to add this would be a factor. hahahaha..... Added on April 14, 2010, 11:48 amjust make sure when u refill it with water... the coolant is not too over diluted already. cuz u might need to add more coolant instead of water. and ermm..... i prefer FILTERED water cuz you know la, our tap water contains a lot of unseen crap. Filtered water is better. filtered water is not safe enough as it still contain minerals. You need distilled water.

QUOTE(jasondotcom @ Apr 15 2010, 10:41 AM) Key plugged into ignition hole. Twist to on. Hear the fuel pump operating for about 2 seconds. Twist to engine start. Do you guys actually do this? Or just key plug in, immediately twist all the way to start engine without waiting. Some said need to wait for 2-3 seconds before starting to lengthen the fuel pump lifespan or somesort... Fact Or Myth? I am not sure about that, normally for me I will wait for a few seconds till all the indicator lights are off except for the handbrake and can't remember which light, then turn to ignition.

QUOTE(kausar @ Apr 22 2010, 12:45 PM) dont know car dont talk maaa.... it is advisable to change auto gear oil on fist 1000km... Doing the gearbox at 1000km isn't necessary but if it makes you feel better, do it.Reason they want to drain out any small pieces of metal elements from your gear box if any. Btw just make sure if is ATF,it is not Dexron Type. Our Persona is using ATF-SP4. This post has been edited by Xefron: Apr 22 2010, 02:28 PM

QUOTE(onlyforthecars @ May 3 2010, 11:28 AM) Dear all, Can anyone share the breakdown of their 40k service? it seems that my usual SC is charging RM 300 for it...key items include: 1. Semi syn oil RM 100 2. Spark plugs RM 38 3. Labour charges Rm 100 I'm thinking the labour charges are abit steep aren't they? So I'm seeking your opinion to benchmark the labour costs amongst other SCs. Thanks in advance... Just done my 5K service outside Fully Sync engine oil RM165 Air-filter RM 20 Oil-filter RM10 Spark plugs RM28 Windscreen wiper pump RM18 1 New wiper set RM 24 Labour charge RM30.

My SC is charging RM 100 for the labour charges, for those who sent their rides to Proton SC, how much were you charged for labour? is RM 100 reasonable? QUOTE(muslayer @ May 3 2010, 03:46 PM) U done outside Proton Authorized service center? better hope ur car problem free. cause u voided ur warranty. By right i already void my warranty and this is not the first time.Already did this to my previous ride.I think it should be OK if you know what are you doing to your car and insist using original spare parts.
