Come across some nifty 3M vacuum cleaner in ebay, specially design to clean electronic components.
Anyone know anyone selling this type of vacuum cleaner (any brand) in Garage Sale? (or brick and mortal store?)

found it but why we shuld we anti static band while doing the dissamling part... didnt know it's tat difficult tho

Minor static electricity could potentially fry the delicate electronic components inside your laptop. Worst part is if anything do get fried, it is not easy for non-professional technician like us to find which one is "goreng".
So yes, anti-static. Keep all the screws properly. And be ever so gentle tongue.gif

hi may i ask for any tips for my Asus n53SN. when i play Guild Wars 2 my CORE 1 and 2 sometimes goes up to 91 degrees. i need help! i already have a notepal cooling pad but it doesnt seem to work.

As you can see.. the n53 has limited air vents and only one fan at the left side of the laptop. how do i cool down my laptop!! please HELP!
*
Your N53 has been with you for 2 - 3 years?
Have you ever clean the dust off the (inlet / outlet) vent / internal fan of the laptop?
If not, most likely it is already clog with dust. No matter how hard your cooling pad blow, it just will not reach the heating components that need the cooling air.
Either you do the cleaning yourself, or if you don't know how / scare to proceed, get a technician to help you to clean and reapply thermal paste. Labour cost should be cheap smile.gif

SERIOUS!? If so, then I really go and buy one and blow it towards the cooler opening of my laptop ya, no problem right?

What cooler pad does is just increase the air flow to your laptop heatsink. Nothing fancy.
What is the most common thing you use to increase air flow: FAN in your house laugh.gif

*same room temperature since we live together. shes one is ivy bridge i5, mine one is 1st gen i5...

Moron questions:
is she using it on some sort of "soft" surface?
did she apply some laptop skin anywhere that some how block the vent at the bottom? (I know this is a really stupid question tongue.gif )

Best is to get Toshiba technician to look at it asap.

so should i diassembly it and apply new thermal paste since im just apply for my old acer, still left alot artic mx4 but it still new laptop~~

poor cooling system u meant is toshiba problem( but why bad reputation acer has better cooling? and my fan vy loud noise, feel like it is faster, dunno why ,but the toshiba is silent)...initially i also doubt is ivy bridge problem.
both nope, we dont use cooler as we dont believe and just put it on a uncovered square box (left a big gap btw laptop bottom and table..)( mine acer never put cooler 40 degree)
*
No, no, I don't mean cooler pads. Laptop skins are those transparent film that people put on laptop surface to prevent scratches.
Ok, so you leave space between laptop and table hmm.gif

Now that you mention fan noise, another moron question:
did you sister somehow force the Toshiba into silent fan mode? (normally this is done using software, but will also throttle down the CPU as well hmm.gif )

Hi

I've got a dv6 which I have been using for almost 2 years now. The fan is pretty noisy and the temperature is getting pretty high and it auto shutdown at times.

I have tried removing the screws at the bback of the laptop but i still did not manage to open to cover.

Is there any way I can actually clean the fan without opening the back cover?

Bring to a technician and get them to do it for you. Stay and watch and learn. Treat the labour cost as tuition fee biggrin.gif

Actually, I have bought an extended 3 years warranty from HP, does this consider "faulty" for me to send it for warranty?
*
In that case, as it is still under warranty, bring it to SC, and tell the technician it is getting "very hot" (you know the drift brows.gif ). HP SC normally will clean for you on the spot (need to wait a while). But you probably won't be able to see the technician do it and learn something tongue.gif
