I also plan to get a U3 and compare it with my Zalman NC-3000U ...it seems my DV6 doesn't affected by the cooling effect from the Zalman...

U3 is definitely better than zalman.... the minimum temp during gaming just cause 2 at high setting is at 60+ deg... But you gotta know where to place the fan to its max efficiency

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 10 2011, 04:51 PM) yeah.. i know... but the problem that is that the wires for the 2 fans that came with it is joined together to 1 USB plugBut if i buy another fan, the wires are not joined to the existing USB plug.. so does it means i need to use another USB port for the additional fan? |

QUOTE(joe90cool @ May 10 2011, 07:48 PM) Isit? Wow, thanks for the clarification. But I have a larger laptop, what to do? Buy 2 individual fans instead? That's going to be abit expensive Or maybe I should just transfer the U2 fans to the new U3 haha |

it depends when it reaches such level of deg... normally avoid going to such high temp.. it shorten your lappy lifespan

If you have larger lappy... its still best to have a single individual fan blowing to the hottest area or where it will blow into your inner laptop compartment.. while standards one blowing other parts (places that may not even need to be fanned) but thats just my suggestion, since single fan is much power than double fan... whats important is the air reaches inside... Coz im using HP pavilion DV6.. and there is just 1 area that has vents to the inner compartment.. while my previous lappy ASUS A8sr is basically open cover thus area of fanned is much considered...Buy 2 individual fans instead? That's going to be abit expensive Or maybe I should just transfer the U2 fans to the new U3 haha All in all, the design of your lappy is to be considered 1st. you can always try it out 1st, since individual fan are easily able to get.
