Hey guys, I'm doing A levels (Maths, Chem, Bio, Econs) at Taylor's Sri Hartamas. I'd like to inquire if it's possible to know now which books I'll be required to buy, and an approximate price for all the books? I'd like to prepare the money needed so I can get everything ready on the orientation day itself as I was told the textbook distributors will have their booths set up at the campus for book sales. Thanks in advance.

bro, i suggest that you do not rush to purchase the text books, because most of the time, well, in my case la, since i purchased reference books for like chem and econs, till today, ive only like opened them once or twice smile.gif in the event that you want to purchase your reference books, try talking to your lecturer about them, ask them whether it is really necessary for you to purchase them or not. Oh yeah, if you want to buy your reference books and do not want to buy the original copy, you can try checking out mac centre in subang jaya, its just in front of taylors subang smile.gif they have quite a few reference books for sale there, and it is all photocopied ones. I know that we should support the publishers and buy original, but sometimes, for students, the prices of original books are just to exorbitant, imho.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've decided to wait till I meet my lecturers and hear their say on which books to buy. I'm in Taylors Sri Hartamas BTW, and during orientation today they were pretty forthright about their policy against photocopied textbooks. I'll see if any seniors are selling the books after I've found out which to buy.

haha, that's what all colleges would say smile.gif its ultimately up to your lecturers to decide whether you can use photocopied versions of the textbook during class or not. All of my lecturers dont mind us using photocopied text books, except for my maths lecturer. She initially insisted on us using only original text books, but after a while, she didnt bother anymore, lol biggrin.gif oh yeah, as for the maths text books, dont bother buying original ones, coz you would only use them for a while before chucking them in a corner. I nearly forgot, you can also ask shops if they have the perfect binding version of the text book or not, which is like the book with an original cover, but photostated contents. Lol, people these days can produce anything biggrin.gif
