wohoo i pre-ordered and fully paid for mine on 15 jan and only just got it on 14th of this month becos... becos ahhh... rma larh. screen rosak

bought from xotic total rm48xx becos delivered to my usa address, then private shipping to my place (free cos i work for an airline demmit). received mid march, then 2nd day screen rosak de. anyways asus malaysia performed the rma for me so can consider customer service not bad larh.

used it for the last 2 days and loving it. the screen is soooo pretty, my games look so much better.

i did the rma here in malaysia becos my "free" shipping takes a lot of coordination so it was not worth sending back to usa. it took exactly 1 month for the repair becos they have no spares here for a model that's not avail in malaysia. they replaced my screen.

so far i don't have too much problems with the keyboard except for the placement of some keys which are diff from my old laptop... just needs some getting used to i thinks.

any owners here tried overclocking yet?

julchin: for me, the asus people were very nice and service was quite good. I don't blame them for the long rma time becos the model is not avail here.

i'm sure those higher scores are with a 920 proc. i have a 720 and it hits 87 degrees with prime 95 without any oc!

using one. somehow i feel the keyboard around the gpu side (right side) gets hot with the silicone cover over the keyboard. maybe this laptop really does have intakes for the fans sumwhere on top? so anyways, now i'm using my silicone cover only on the left side of my keyboard covering the WASD "gaming" keys.

ya the gaps on this keyboard quite big...

i'd say if u really hate to see dust on your keyboard, buy it n use for normal pc use... and remove/put in only on the left side like me, for gaming. after all it's only rm8... buy de use no use oso no harm.

No more keyboard resource conflicts, heh.
EvilDevil - I'm using CAT 10.4 and it's good. It even gave me 220 more points in vantage.

Actually there's a reason for updating bios. I started noticing the keyboard was missing some key strokes which I guess was caused by the keyboard resource conflicts. And CAT drivers sure kiasu must install new one mah. keke.

Jeffrey - wa if I kena like dat in Malaysia I sure got the guys name and IC no and 100% get him transfered or fired jor.

Laptop power bricks are almost always multi volt so it can be used anywhere as long as you can get the correct plug adapter to plug it into the wall socket.

haha i got my keyboard protector from someone here at lowyat.net. a bit expensive but i like it! looks like yours jeff.
