Seagate and Samsung tried to do so back in 2007...

iirc they come with 1GB flash memory... but even that proves to be too expensive and too little performance gain...

actually HHD is the biggest reason y Seagate never commit to 10k rpm HDD...

i think it's a worthy upgrade for performance laptops though...

I have read this before at Engadget but the most concerned part of this technology is the PRICE. It may costs you an arm and leg.

I'm not a hardcore gamer though. 7200 RPM is fine enough for me.

unless SSD can drop to at least US$1/GB (even that is still expensive if u ask me), it will still remain as a premium item...

My Asus G73Jh currently is at the local customs office. Thus, I might to get myself to there on this coming Monday to claim it. Argh . . . troublesome . . . Hopefully I can get it on this Monday. Itchy hands . . .

Nope, it will definitely not disturbing the cooling system of the notebook. I have double checked this matter with the NBR's Asus G73Jh members and they also told me that there are no any cooling mechanism under the keyboard as some of the discussion members have verified it via disassembling it. It was a misunderstanding at the 1st place. 

They told me that there are some air intakes from the mesh above the keyboard but I'm not so sure about this. 

Steelseries ones?
