Is it faster if i buy in singapore compare to in Malaysia ?

For Asus G73JH, I think it has no difference where you want to buy it as long as it has ready stock. For the time being. almost all Asus G73JH has to be back ordered.

In the Malaysia and Singapore region, I don't think that there is any ready stock Asus G73JH. Maybe be you can try to order from here of Singapore.

guys i wish to buy from xoticpc.. those who bought from xoticpc can u guide me, i need to know the method of payment.. i only have bank cimb card.

I think there is only one way of payment for international transaction, that is, bank wire. You just have to go to the CIMB bank and tell that you want to transfer your money to an US account and they will assist you. Just remember that the local bank will charge you some transaction fee. As for the US bank, you have to ask the reseller. All the best!

If you're in the states and are updated through the forums, you can practically get the A1s and A2s from some resellers who aren't so well known but could ship them out to you ASAP. And then you have the choice of the other stripped down versions mainly the X1 and X2 and the BB version.

As for us in good ol' "boleh" land . . we have no choice but to pre-order. I ordered mine on the 31/3/2010 and as of 10AM this morning, it has arrived in "boleh" land. I am not so sure who is it that is gonna post it to my house since I took the USPS International Mail Express option . . but am praying I can unbox tomorrow smile.gif

As for those who are thinking of waiting to get them from shops over here, I would say its better you don't. The word I get from resellers in Taiwan (Asus HQ) is that the G73JH line is only for export purposes to the western countries. They would not even stock it in Taiwan. Go figure  rclxub.gif

And there ofcourse you could also take the direction of others who opt for other brands but you definitely won't be paying the same for the exact spec wink.gif

*oops edited the order date smile.gif

From where did you ordered yours? Xotic PC?
Which version? A1, A2 and etc?
How much in total you have to pay?

Anyway, all the best for your new laptop. Happy notebook-ing! thumbup.gif

Jeffrey, ASUS comes with standard 2 Year Global Warranty. You could check out the price for an extension with resellers like Xotic PC which would give you an option when you're customizing your notebook on their website.
*
Do you think that is worth of upgrading the default warranty to 3 years global warranty?I'm thinking of upgrading it hmm.gif

will it void the warranty if change HDD my self ??
and can i open and maintenance the dust myself ?? will this void the warranty also ! ???

It will not void your warranty but as for the dust cleaning for the exhaust fan, I think it is quite difficult especially Asus G73JH as its cooling system is not easy to be accessed. sad.gif

Well, if it allows you to sleep peacefully at night knowing that your USD1600 laptop is protected for 3 years, and you have no problem paying the extra . . I don't see why not smile.gif

If you were to search around, there is a good guide on disassembling the G73JH.  wink.gif

Update: I have not gamed on my A2 yet as I am just trying to clean bloatwares and install drivers and security software first. Maybe I'll start gaming this weekend . . and after that will have a review on my new Lappy . . MAYBE is the keyword  wink.gif

QUOTE(igothack @ May 4 2010, 11:12 PM)
I bought my Asus G73-A2 off ebay because I wanted to use paypal.

It took around 2 weeks to arrive in total, pretty fast considering it was sent via USPS.

Make sure you get your tracking, it's extremely useful when ordering such an item of high value. It allowed me to know exactly when it arrived in Malaysia and whether or not it cleared customs. It should clear customs since notebooks are free from custom duties.

Unless it's shipped via FedEx or some other specialised courier company, don't expect poslaju to deliver it to your home. If you want you can easily collect it without waiting for their notification letter. Just call them up and give them your tracking no. and they'll tell you which post office it is at. Bring your IC or passport + the tracking no. and you can go ahead and take it home.

All in all, this laptop is way cheaper than it would be in Malaysia. Got it for around 5.5k including shipping whereas I'm pretty sure when it retails locally it will be over 7k minimum. Specs are almost as good as the Alienware m17x for nearly half the price.

If you haven't seen a 17.3 inch laptop before, like me, you will be in for a HUGE suprise.

I would post some performance tests, but it seems that people have already posted plenty of that.

Good luck fellow Asus G73 owners and future owners.

May you give me the link of the eBay? How much did you pay in sum?

You have ordered yourself an A1 or A2? How much did it costs for the machine + shipping fee. I'm thinking of ordering from GenTechPC but still have a long queue on it. Thus, powernotebooks is my next target. Oh yea, how did you pay them? Via PayPal or bank wire. Personally, I want to use PayPal. biggrin.gif
