Books by Nicholas Sparks:

The Notebook - Also made into a movie starring Rachel McAdams

Message in A Bottle - Also made into a movie starring Kevin Costner

A Walk to Remember - Also made into a movie starring Mandy Moore & Shane West

The Rescue

A Bend in the Road

Nights in Rodanthe - Also made into a movie starring Richard Gere

The Wedding

The Guardian

Three Weeks With My Brother

True Believer

At First Sight

The Choice

Dear John - Also made into a movie starring Amanda Seyfried

The Lucky One

The Last Song - Upcoming movie starring Miley Cyrus

so far i've only read a few but so far the best is A Walk to Remember. Don't judge this book based on the movie alone because the book is so much better than the movie.

Any Nicholas fans here? Come and share your opinion bout his books and his writing.

I've never read any of his books, but I've watched The Notebook, A Walk to Remember and Nights in Rodanthe. Not the conventional idea of happy endings for all three, but I enjoyed all three movies nonetheless.

Ending-wise, he's kinda like Cecilia Ahern, no? I mean, in the not-so-happy ending sense lah..

zenwell, i personally liked the way Nicholas Sparks write. His plot, his words, could be very inspiring although its fiction. Supposely to say, each of his titles have different valuable inspiration and different moral values. Not all of his books have happy endings though. On the other hand, it depends on one individual preferences. Some people may not like his books smile.gif

Some does have Happy ending. Like The Guardian, except for the dog named Singer, who died saving Julie. The Wedding is also a happy ending.

Agreed smile.gif

Reading 'A Walk to Remember' brings me to tears, while watching the movie gives me no special feeling.

Still, the film crews did a good job happy.gif

Message In A Bottle by Kevin Costner and Robin Wright Penn, A Walk To Remember by Mandy Moore and Shane West, The Notebook by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams and Nights In Rodanthe by Richard Gere and Diane Lane... I watched it all.

Soon will be Dear John by Channing Tatum and The Last Song.

Upcoming book by Nicholas Sparks:

Saying Goodbye

Estimated date: September 14, 2010

QUOTE
The #1 New York Times bestselling author tells the story of romance lost and rediscovered-and the wrenching decision one woman must make between loyalty and love.

Every person's story has a beginning, middle and end, but the path that leads from one stage of life to the next is rarely predictable. Renee's journey begins when she is a carefree college student, studying in Italy with her best friend, Audrey. During that idyllic summer abroad, Renee meets a handsome local, and falls deeply in love. But like all summer romances, the affair comes to an end when she returns to North Carolina. Back home, Renee fulfills everyone's expectations - including her own - by marrying her longtime college boyfriend. Over the next two decades, she raises a family and lives a predictable, if in some ways unfulfilling life. When Audrey announces that she's dying of cancer, Renee drops everything to spend Audrey's last days by her side, unaware that her unconventional best friend still has a few surprises up her sleeve . . . surprises that will turn Renee's world upside down, and offer her a chance to re-live the choices of her past in a way she never dreamed possible.

Estimated date for Hardback: September 14, 2010 (US) icon_idea.gif

QUOTE
When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.

But even as Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her . . . a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport. With Jo’s empathic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards . . . and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven.

Wow! We have a thread for Nicholas Sparks books. I've just ordered some of his titles from US for sale but haven't got a chance to read yet. Guess I have to reserve some of the titles for my own reading. tongue.gif

Anyone can suggest which title is good for new Nicholas Sparks reader?
