Since you are upgrading from old tech to new tech and the price may be higher or your contract will be renewed for another 2 years starting from the date of installation, who knows? rclxms.gif  I don think TM will stop you from contributing more than your currently have to, especially in $$$... To reduce the cost for installing HSBB also means longer contract tongue.gif
*
ya lor! TM can earn more,
i don think they will say no to me,
but finally i upgrade to blockbuster deals 512kbps package only,
i really don wanna have long time contract with tm..

by the way,
i would like to know,
if we subscribe to HSBB,
we are still using normal phone line or all the line must go thru by the modem?

for the terrace house users,
how can we get to know,
is it there have any hsbb boxes?

QUOTE(porty @ Mar 17 2010, 01:46 PM)
actually this hsbb triple play, in future, if you stop using your copper phone line and depend on this dect/ip phone

what happens if TNB got problems, electricity got cut off and need to make emergency call?

we expect/assume that people will have or have access to a mobile phone?

got no laws covering this? ie tm need to make sure that at least the phone can be used for x hours even if blackout?
*
is it mean after we subscribe to HSBB,
our phone set will connect to the HSBB modem but not the phone port on the wall?

as what u say,
if the internet down,
can we still use the phone?
or it is totally VoIP phone service via internet?

sorry for my stupid question,
but i don really know it..

I think can, just like copper, ...but
if central fiber down, phone can not use
*
so is it mean the phone will directly connect to the modem,
and have to always on the modem or any other device(power on),
to receive any incoming calls?

Can someone with HSBB just turn off the device and test? That should tell us if it works even if there is power failure right?
*
yes, i agree.

cant wait for the launch,
this week when i go back to my hometown,
will check is it my area have any HSBB box..

i'd be more interested to know their price strategy - hsbb vs streamyx

hopefully, streamyx prices are reduced so that hsbb is not overpriced
*
Streamyx just launched Blockbuster Deals package,
i don think they will reduce their price in the short term... sad.gif

very disappointed with this,
my area always late to get the better service,
like long time ago my place do not have 1mbps service,
even the 1mbps package already launch long time ago.

my area using 1mbps is quite slow,
if my area hv many streamyx users,
y i don see the hsbb box?

i pay RM110 every month for my streamyx,
if HSBB only RM150 and above,
i think i will very disappointed with TM's service..

everytime my area will get the 'new service' at last..

maybe your place going to jump to HSBB no need use adsl already, you can check when it will reach your area here
*
from the list,
they wrote Klang will be available by Q4,
i think they wont cover whole klang area,
only on some selected areas with high demand,
right?

There's also one thing which I'm quite confused with this issue. They stated Petaling Jaya to be in Q3 and Kelana Jaya in Q4 but Kelana Jaya is already in Petaling Jaya area, so when they stated Petaling Jaya, nobody knows exactly where they are referring to. hmm.gif
*
TM do not provide clear information about this issue,
i really confuse of it.

i hope HSBB will be coverage by whole malaysia like streamyx,
but not on selected high demand area only,
unfair for me if my area do not have much streamyx users.

The price for the 1MB should be about RM 60 only...if TM decide to put the HSSB price for RM150...then it will be worth to subscribe to the HSSB

i guess there is no strong opponent to challenge BN there..like in the west malaysia we got Pakatan..so people will vote for BN rather than independent candidate  rclxub.gif
*
for us that still have contract with Streamyx,
it is unfair for us if they decrease the price.. sad.gif

When I call them just now I also asked them about the existing phone, they said you'll get a new phone number for HSBB, and for the existing copper based phone number you'll either terminate it or have to 2 phone number. The existing phone number can't transfer to the new phone number. I asked how about the rental fee for the existing phone number, they've no idea with it, asked me go TMpoint tomorrow.
*
as what u said,
if we wanna keep contact with other(normally our fixed line already many years ago),
we have to pay more,
at least RM26 if we subscribe to any combo/blockbuster deals package?

3 techologies for FTTH
- Overhead
- Underground
- Pedestal

so if overhead, the fiber will laid on the pole with the FTTH box.
*
it means...
if they have poles behind my house,
my area are using Overhead one?

sorry for stupid question,
i just hope to know is it my area not ready for HSBB,
if i don see any HSBB/Fiber box on the pole..
